Historian Dan Freas Delivers a Lecture on Sat. Aug. 29 - 2:00 PM. at the Glen Ellyn History Center

On Saturday, August 29 at 2:00 PM in the Glen Ellyn History Center - 800 N. Main Street, Glen Ellyn, historian Dan Freas. director Emeritus of Old World Wisconsin, delivers a lecture  “The Organ of the Soldiers: An Introduction to Civil War Camp Newspapers.”  The talk highlights Union Army newspapers and how they provide an honest, unvarnished look into life of soldiers during the Civil War.  Not only is Freas a historian but he is also a story teller.  Families, middle school and high school students are going to be excited about hearing all the highlights of soldiers lives during the Civil War.  Call 630-469-1867 and check the website at www.gehs.org.
