The Illinois General Assembly passed SB 1863 in May to expand vote by mail as a voting method during the ongoing pandemic. In June, Governor Pritzker signed the bill into law to ensure safe and active participation in the 2020 General Election. The DuPage County Clerk’s office is using funds made available this year through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act) for the mailing of applications and ballots.

Ballots will not begin to be mailed out until September 24, 2020. It may take four to five business days to receive a ballot after that date. Additionally, voters will continue to have the option of casting ballots during early voting or at Election Day polling places.
