Glen Ellyn Cardboard Regatta, Food Truck Picnic Set For June 29

GLEN ELLYN, IL — The village of Glen Ellyn will start its Fourth of July festivities early with its annual Cardboard Regatta and a Food Truck Picnic in the Park on June 29. Head to Lake Ellyn Park to see the Cardboard Regatta at 12 p.m. and to enjoy eats from dozens of food trucks from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Lake Ellyn Cardboard Regatta displays boaters in an array of cardboard boats in an attempt to race across —or simply stay afloat on— Lake Ellyn. The event area opens at 10 a.m. and the race starts at noon. The roster includes categories for kids, families, and adults. Awards are available for most creative, best team, and even best sink.
