GLENVIEW, IL — The following information comes from the Glenview Police Department as a record of police activity and includes both incidents reported by the public and arrests made by police. Readers are reminded that an arrest is not an indicator of guilt and criminal charges represent merely accusations. All persons arrested are innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

THEFT

On Oct. 3 at 7:40 a.m., an employee in the 1700 block of Waukegan Road reported someone called in a rental order and the item was picked up and never returned for a reported loss of $3,000.

RETAIL THEFT

On Oct. 3 at 1:51 p.m., an employee in the 1900 block of Tower Drive reported a woman walked out of the store without paying for $30 worth of clothing.

SOLICITOR COMPLAINT

On Oct. 3 at 5:10 p.m., a resident reported an unlicensed solicitor at Colfax Avenue and Elm Street.

DISPUTE

On Oct. 3 at 5:36 p.m., an employee in the 2400 block of Ravine Way reported a man and woman were arguing in the parking lot.

UNWANTED PERSON

On Oct. 3 at 7:52 p.m., a resident in the 3600 block of Keenan Lane reported a man rang the doorbell repeatedly and was sent away.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY

On Oct. 3 at 9:14 p.m., a resident in the 2400 block of Central Road reported someone used force on the front door entered the house and stole more than $3,000 worth of personal items.

UNWANTED PERSON

On Oct. 4 at 8:30 a.m., an employee in the 2400 block of Ravine Way reported someone was at the business seeking unapproved services.

RETAIL THEFT

On Oct. 4 at 11:10 a.m., an employee in the 1400 block of Waukegan Road reported someone came in the store and walked out with a basket of $800 worth of merchandise without paying.

THEFT

On Oct. 4 at 11:00 a.m., an employee in the 1400 block of Waukegan Road reported someone stole a bale of cardboard worth $300 from near the loading dock.

THEFT

On Oct. 4 at 2:04 p.m., a resident in the 3600 block of Keenan Lane reported someone would not return jewelry worth $1.000 that had been held for safekeeping.

THEFT

On Oct. 4 at 4:19 p.m., a resident in the 2600 block of Lehigh Avenue reported someone took his wallet for a reported loss of $300.

CRIMINAL TRESPASS TO VEHICLE

On Oct. 4 at 11:08 p.m., officers stopped a reported stolen vehicle in the 3500 block of Milwaukee Avenue. The vehicle was towed and the driver released after the owner decided not to sign a complaint.

RETAIL THEFT

On Oct. 5 at 10:25 a.m., an employee in the 500 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported someone entered the store and took a bottle of alcohol worth $129 off the shelf, placed it inside his clothing and left the store without paying.

CRIMINAL TRESPASS

On Oct. 5 at 12:19 p.m., an employee in the 1400 block of Waukegan Road reported someone put bottles of alcohol in a zippered bag and walked toward the exit. The suspect put the bottles back and left the store after discovering he was being watched.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT

On Oct. 5 at 3:21 p.m., an employee in the 2100 block of Pfingsten Road reported a customer made threats to hurt the employee.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY

On Oct. 5 at 3:36 p.m., a resident in the 2300 block of Mohawk Lane reported a man knocked on the front door and asked about installing a fence at the rear of the property. Later, the resident discovered that personal items worth $5,000 were missing from the house.

RETAIL THEFT

On Oct. 6 at 2:13 p.m., an employee in the 1900 block of Tower Drive reported two 17-year-old juveniles removed merchandised from a shelf and left the store without paying for it. Both subjects were issued Village Ordinance Citations for Theft. There was no loss reported.

IDENTITY THEFT

On Oct. 6 at 3:07 p.m., a resident in the 1200 block of Pine Street reported someone opened a telephone account in their name without permission for a reported loss of $600.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE

On Oct. 6 at 6:26 p.m., an Evanston resident reported someone keyed the rear passenger side fender of his vehicle while it was parked in the 1600 block of Magnolia Street for a reported loss of $200.

BATTERY

On Oct. 6 at 8:46 p.m., an employee of a vendor business working in the 2300 block of Patriot Boulevard reported a co-worker inappropriately touched her buttock with his hand.

THEFT

On Oct. 6 at 5 p.m., an employee in the 1600 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported someone who claimed to work for a utility company called, saying the electric bill was overdue and demanding payment to prevent disconnection. The apparent scammer was paid $1,000.

BATTERY

On Oct. 7 at 3:48 p.m., a shopper in a parking lot in the 2500 block of Waukegan Road reported he was intentionally bumped by a man after accidentally damaging his vehicle.

THEFT

On Oct. 7 at 7:34 p.m., a restaurant employee in the 2100 block of Willow Road reported 10 juveniles dressed in animal costumes left the restaurant without paying for $80 worth of food.

ELECTRONIC HARASSMENT

On Oct. 8 at 5:23 p.m., a resident in the 200 block of Greenwood Road reported receiving unwanted texts and telephone calls.

CRIMINAL TRESPASS

On Oct. 8 at 7:41 p.m., a resident in the 2100 block of Spruce Drive reported someone was on their property without permission.

DISPUTE

On Oct 9 at 7:12 p.m, a cab driver reported he dropped a fare in the 1800 block of George Court who did not pay for the cab ride. Once police arrived, the driver was paid.


ARRESTS/CITATIONS

Robert Jabaay, 41, of the 600 block of Oxford Lane, New Lenox, was arrested Oct. 5 shortly before 11 a.m. and charged with theft after being picked up on a warrant issued in connection with a report of a March 3 fraud reported in the 1000 block of Harlem Avenue.

A 48-year-old Skokie man was arrested Oct. 6 at 7:12 p.m. and charged with driving with a suspended license after a traffic stop in the 2700 block of East Lake Avenue.

Tyler Kilpatrick, 28, of the 1800 block George Court, Glenview, was arrested at his home and charged with theft on Oct. 7 shortly after 3 p.m.

Julio Lopez-Aguilar, 27, of the 4800 West Winnemac Avenue, Chicago, was arrested Oct. 7 shortly before 4 p.m. and charged with leaving the scene of an accident, driving without a valid license and driving an uninsured vehicle after an investigation into a traffic crash in the 3300 block of East Lake Avenue.

Sam Melody, 21, of the 4000 block of Wagner Avenue in Schiller Park, was arrested on Oct. 8 at 12:11 a.m. and charged with harassment through electronic communications after an investigation in the 9800 block of Milwaukee Avenue.

A 20-year-old Northbrook man was arrested on Oct. 8 at 1:47 a.m. and charged with speeding 99 mph in a 45 mph zone and driving an uninsured vehicle after a traffic stop in the 3800 block of East Lake Avenue.

Preston Smoot, 24, of the 2800 block of Knollwood Lane, was arrested on Oct. 8 at 8:32 p.m. charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration over 0.08 after a traffic crash investigation in the 1300 block of Patriot Boulevard.

Tyler Kilpatrick, 28, of the 1800 block of George Court, was arrested on Oct. 8 at 9:28 p.m. and charged with theft in the 1800 block of George Court.
