Glenview Police Blotter: Sept. 26 - Oct. 3

GLENVIEW, IL — The following information comes from the Glenview Police Department as a record of police activity and includes both incidents reported by the public and arrests made by police. Readers are reminded that an arrest is not an indicator of guilt and criminal charges represent merely accusations. All persons arrested are innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

INCIDENTS

IDENTITY THEFT
On Sept. 28 at 8:54 p.m., a resident in the 900 block of Wedgewood Drive reported someone used their personal information in an attempt to purchase merchandise. There is no reported loss.

IDENTITY THEFT
On Sept. 28 at 9:25 p.m., a resident in the 4500 block of Concord Lane reported receiving a telephone call from someone who said he was in an accident and needed help. The resident then provided personal identifying information to the caller.

BURGLARY
On Sept. 29 at 7:24 a.m., a Glenview Park District employee reported someone entered a storage trailer in the 600 block of Zenith Drive and stole landscape equipment for a reported loss of $1,800.

THEFT
On Sept. 29 at 2:11 p.m., a resident in the 2600 block of Chestnut Avenue reported someone took jewelry from their residence for a reported loss of $3,000.

IDENTITY THEFT
On Sept. 29 at 3:16 p.m., a resident of the 3700 block of Miller Drive reported someone used their personal information to purchase merchandise. The loss is unknown at this time.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE
On Sept. 29 at 4:05 p.m., a motorist in the 1900 Tower Drive reported someone threw a cup of ice on their car damaging the roof for a reported loss of $500.

UNWANTED SUBJECTS
Shortly after midnight on Sept. 30, an employee in the 3300 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported people were on the property causing a disturbance.

TRESPASSING
On Sept. 30 at 10:16 a.m., a resident of the 3200 block of Springdale Avenue reported someone was on their property without permission.

DRUG OFFENSE
On Sept. 30 at 5:34 p.m., a resident in the 3700 block of Miller Drive reported drug activity in the area.

THEFT
On Sept. 30 at 9:55 p.m., an employee in the 700 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported two patrons ordered food and ran out of the restaurant without paying for it for a reported loss of $44.

BATTERY
On Sept. 30 at 10:08 p.m., a patron in the 1800 block of Waukegan Road reported another patron grabbed her derriere while trying to dance with her.

THEFT
On Oct. 1 at 9:11 a.m., a resident in the 4600 Lilac Avenue reported someone took two packages from their front porch for a reported loss of $950.

THEFT OF LOST PROPERTY
On Oct. 1 at 8:31 p.m., a shopper in the 2200 block of Willow Road reported leaving her cellular telephone at the store and it was gone when she went back for it. The reported loss was $650.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT
On Oct. 2 at 3:23 a.m., an employee in the 9800 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported someone became upset and pounded on the drive up window.

CRIMINAL DEFACEMENT
On Oct. 2 at 11:03 a.m., a Glenview Park District employee, reported someone wrote graffiti on the playground equipment in the 1500 block of Forest Drive for a reported loss of $100.

CRIMINAL TRESPASS
On Oct. 2 at 12:21 p.m., a resident in the 4500 block of Jenna Road reported someone was in their garage without permission.

BURGLARY
On Oct. 2 at 1:07 p.m., a resident in the 1600 block of Hawthorne Lane reported someone stole tools and bikes from a garage for a reported loss of $660.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY
On Oct. 2 at 1:49 p.m., a resident in the 3200 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported someone entered their residence and took an iPad from inside for a reported loss of $400.

RETAIL THEFT
Shortly before 4 p.m. on Oct. 2, an employee in the 100 block of Waukegan Road reported someone entered the store and placed Allegra, Nexium and other pharmaceuticals worth a reported $1,500 into a shopping cart and left without paying.

IDENTITY THEFT
On Oct. 2 at 4:24 p.m., a resident in the 2000 block of Chestnut Avenue reported someone opened a fraudulent Comcast account using their personal information and accrued $650 in charges.

ATTEMPTED UNLAWFUL ACQUISITION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE
On Oct. 2 at 9:03 p.m., an employee in the 1400 block of Waukegan Road reported someone attempted unsuccessfully to fill a prescription for OxyContin using a prescription pad stolen from a doctors’ office.


ARRESTS/CITATIONS

A 27-year-old Chicago man was arrested on Sept. 25 at 10:58 p.m. in the 1800 block of Patriot Boulevard and charged with driving while license suspended, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and speeding (between 11-14 mph above the speed limit.)

Bogdan Gajo, 69, of the 9500 block of Forest Place, Des Plaines, was arrested on Sept. 26 at 11:51 a.m. and charged with retail theft after an investigation at Abt Electronics.

A 47-year-old Chicago man was arrested Sept. 26 at 10 p.m. and charged with driving on a suspended driver’s license and operating an uninsured motor vehicle after a traffic stop in the 600 block of Milwaukee Avenue.

Juan Flores, 37, of the 2500 block of West 45th Street, Chicago, was arrested on Sept. 28 at 6:26 p.m. and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol, driving with a suspended/revoked driver’s license and illegal transportation of alcohol after a traffic stop in the 3200 block of Glenview Road.

Tobias Nilsson, 48, of the 2600 block of Golf Road, was arrested on Sept. 28 at 10:11 a.m. and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.08 or more and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident after a crash investigation in the 2000 block of Pfingsten Road.

Eli Toledo-Ocampo, 34, of the 1600 block of Waukegan Road, was arrested on Sept. 30 at 10:20 p.m. and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, endangering the health of a child, improper lane usage and illegal transportation of alcohol after a traffic stop in the 1200 block of Waukegan Road.

Imelda Castillejo Cortes, 27, of the 9600 block of Maclean Avenue, Melrose Park, was arrested on Sept. 30 at 10:24 p.m. and charged with battery in the 1200 block of Waukegan Road.

A 48-year-old Des Plaines man was arrested on Oct. 1 at 9:45 p.m. charged with driving on a suspended/revoked driver’s license and failure to surrender a suspended/revoked driver’s license in the 1000 block of Waukegan Road.
