3 Cars Stolen, 3 Drivers Arrested After Crashes: Glenview Crime Reports

GLENVIEW, IL — The following information comes from the Glenview Police Department as a record of police activity and includes both incidents reported by the public and arrests made by police. Readers are reminded that an arrest is not an indicator of guilt and criminal charges represent merely accusations. All persons arrested are innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
INCIDENTS
RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY

Someone entered a home in the 2100 block of Robincrest Lane and stole $70 worth of personal items from inside, police were told on the morning of Oct. 17.
RETAIL THEFT

On Oct. 17 at 2:39 p.m., an employee at an unspecified business in the 1400 block of Waukegan Road reported someone filled two large gift bags with merchandise and left the store without paying, but the amount of loss was unknown.
THEFT
On Oct. 17 at 3:46 p.m., a customer at an unspecified business in the 3400 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported leaving the restaurant and forgetting a shoulder bag on the back of a chair for a reported loss of $850.
THEFT
On Oct. 17 at 5:22 p.m., a resident in the 300 block of Parkview Road reported that someone had taken an unlocked bicycle worth $800 from their driveway.
CRIMINAL TRESPASS
On Oct. 17 at 6:31 p.m., a resident in the 2100 block of Rugen Road reported someone got into an unlocked car parked in a lot and rummaged through the inside, but there was no reported loss.

On Oct. 18 at 2:22 p.m., a resident in the 3700 block of Glenlake Drive reported someone was on their property without permission.
INTOXICATED PERSON
On Oct. 18 at 2:09 p.m., a resident in the 2400 block of Glenview Road reported seeing a man walking down the sidewalk unsteadily .
BATTERY
On Oct. 18 at 2:40 p.m., a resident in the 3300 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported another resident struck them in the leg.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE
On Oct. 18 at 6:09 p.m., an employee at an unspecified business in the 1300 block of Patriot Boulevard reported someone scratched their car while it was parked in a lot, doing a reported $500 damage.
THEFT
On Oct. 18 at 6:42 p.m., a customer at an unspecified business in the 1800 block of Waukegan Road reported leaving their wallet containing credit card and identification at the store for a reported loss of $20.
CAR THEFT
On Oct. 19 at 1:43 a.m., a resident in the 4100 block of Cove Lane reported their vehicle was stolen from the parking lot for a reported loss of $20,000.
DISORDERLY CONDUCT
On Oct. 19 at 8:15 a.m., a resident in the 1200 block of Hawthorne Lane reported someone left threatening voice mail messages.
THEFT
On Oct. 18 at 5:03 p.m., a student in the 2700 block of Central Road reported a school-issued tablet was missing. The reported loss was $300.
TELEPHONE HARASSMENT
On Oct. 19 at 9:23 a.m., a resident in the 2100 block of Rugen Road reported receiving unwanted telephone calls.
RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY
On Oct. 19 at 1:29 p.m., a homeowner in the 200 block of Greenfield Drive reported someone entered their house and damaged property inside for a reported loss of $700.
THEFT
On Oct. 19 at 4:35 p.m., a resident in the 100 block of Rutgers Court reported receiving a telephone call from a person fraudulently posing as a relative. The caller demanded money and the resident turned over some amount larger than $500.
CAR THEFT
On Oct. 19 at 5:09 p.m., an employee at an unspecified business in the 1800 block of Waukegan Road reported someone rented a car and did not return it. The reported loss was $30,000.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE
On Oct. 20 at 11:40 a.m., a resident in the 2700 block of Fontana Drive reported someone damaged the rearview mirrors on their car for a reported loss of $300.
CREDIT CAR FRAUD
On Oct. 20 at 4:21 p.m. an employee at an unspecified business the 1200 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported that someone had charged $4,000 to a credit account to make several online purchases.
BURGLARY
On Oct. 21 at 10:23 a.m., a resident in the 300 block of Hager Lane reported someone entered their unlocked car and stole cash from the center console for a reported loss of $100.
IDENTITY THEFT
On Oct. 21 at 10:27 a.m., a resident in the 1400 block of Meadow Lane reported someone used their personal information in an attempt to buy a car, but there was no loss.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE
On Oct. 21 at 11:19 a.m., an employee at an unspecified business in the 300 block of Waukegan Road reported someone did $100 damage to a trailer.
THEFT
On Oct. 22 at 12:49 a.m., the driver of a taxicab in the 1500 block of Milwaukee Ave reported a customer had left the cab without paying the fare. Police did not provide a description of the customer.
CRIMINAL TRESPASS
On Oct. 22 at 11:45 a.m., a resident in the 900 block of the Indian Lane reported an unlocked vehicle parked in a driveway had been entered rummaged through, with everything that had been in the glove compartment scattered around the inside of the car. There was, however, nothing reported missing.
CAR THEFT
On Oct. 22 at 12:29 p.m., a resident in the 1900 block of Monroe Avenue reported someone stole a vehicle worth $20,000 from their driveway.
BURGLARY
On Oct. 22 at 5:50 p.m., a resident in the 900 block of Beaver Lane reported someone went inside their unlocked vehicle parked in a driveway and stole $20 worth of coins out of it.
THEFT
On Oct. 22 at 7 p.m., a taxicab driver in the 2400 block of Waukegan Road reported a customer had just walked away from their cab without paying a $35 fare. Police did not provide a description of the customer.
CRIMINAL TRESPASS
On Oct. 22 at 7:57 p.m., a resident in the 700 block of Indian Road reported someone went into their unlocked vehicle and searched around its interior, but nothing was reported missing.
IDENTITY THEFT
On Oct. 23 at 6:46 p.m., a resident in the 1800 block of Dewes Street reported someone had applied for credit using their personal information but a different out of state address. There is no loss.
ARRESTS/CITATIONS
A 61-year-old Melrose Park woman was arrested and charged with driving with a suspended or revoked drivers license on Oct. 17 at 7:38 p.m. following an investigation into a traffic crash in the 400 block of Greenwood Road.
A 39-year-old Glenview man was arrested and charged with driving without a valid license on Oct. 18 at 7:58 a.m. after police investigated a traffic crash in the 1000 block of Greenwood Road. He was also issued a citations for following too closely and defective brakes.
Evan Stroud, 20, of the 1400 block of Blackthorn Drive, was arrested Oct. 18 at 2:17 p.m. and charged with theft in the 3600 block of Keenan Avenue "following an investigation." Police did not say what he is accused of stealing, from whom, or when.
Arlene Pena, 51, of the 600 block of Wilbur Court in Gurnee, was charged with deceptive practice on Oct. 19 at 4:57 p.m. in the 9700 block of Milwaukee Avenue "following an investigation." Police did not say what sort of deceptive practices she was allegedly engaged in or when.
A 23-year-old Des Plaines man was arrested on Oct. 20 at 7:52 p.m. following a traffic stop in the 3400 block of Milwaukee Avenue and charged with driving with a suspended drivers license. He was also issued a ticket for driving with no taillights.
A 32-year-old Des Plaines woman was arrested on Oct. 21 at 3:21 a.m. at an unspecified location and charged with driving without a valid license and speeding 55 mph in a 35 mph zone.
Ariuntungalag Lkhagvajav, 35, of the 3600 block of Salem Walk, Northbrook, was arrested Oct. 21 at 3:08 a.m. and charged with aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol after a traffic stop in the 1800 block of Milwaukee Avenue. She was also issued a citation for improper lane usage.
Jin Lim, 22, of the 1500 block of Pebble Creek Drive, was arrested on Oct. 21 at 2:01 a.m. and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol following an investigation into a traffic crash in the 1000 block of Castilian Court.
