4 Damaged Holiday Displays, 4 Unruly Customers: Glenview Crimes

Glenview Police Blotter: Nov. 21 - Nov. 27

GLENVIEW, IL — The following information comes from the Glenview Police Department as a record of police activity and includes both incidents reported by the public and arrests made by police. Readers are reminded that an arrest is not an indicator of guilt and criminal charges represent merely accusations. All persons arrested are innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

THEFT
An employee in the 2500 block of Chestnut Avenue reported to police on Nov. 21 at 8:45 that someone had stolen $180 in cash from their wallet.

AGGRAVATED BATTERY
Someone threw water at and struck an employee in the 2400 block of Violet Street, police were told Nov. 21 at 2:22 p.m.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY
On the afternoon of Nov. 21, a resident in the 2100 block of Spruce Street told police someone damaged and entered an unoccupied home without permission. The cost of the damage was reported to be $250.

THEFT
An employee in the 100 block of Astellas Way reported their $550 cell phone was stolen after being left unattended in a bathroom.

TRESPASS
An employee in the 3300 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported a customer violated an unspecified business policy and needed to leave Nov. 21 at 10:40 p.m.

THEFT
An employee in the 2200 block of Willow Road reported to police Nov. 23 at 1:24 p.m. that ssomeone stole $140 in clothing from a rack at an unspecified business.

THEFT
A resident in the 4100 block of Cove Lane reported to police Nov. 24 at 11:36 a.m. that someone had taken an emblem worth $5 from their vehicle parked in the parking lot.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE
About 25 minutes later, a resident in the 4100 block of Cove Lane reported someone damaged their address sticker worth $5 on a residence.

DISPUTE
An employee in the 1400 block of Waukegan Road reported an unidentified customer became rude inside an unspecified business Nov. 24 at 9:54 p.m.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE
A resident in the 700 block of Spruce Street reported to police Nov. 25 at 8 a.m. that someone did $275 damage to a vehicle parked on their driveway..

CRIMINAL DAMAGE
A resident in the 2100 block of Larkdale Drive reported to police Nov. 25 at 8:38 a.m. that someone did $300 damage to landscaping lights and decorations on their front yard.

CAR BURGLARY
A resident in the 2300 block of Iroquois Drive reported on the morning of Nov. 25 that $400 worth of property had been taken from inside three unlocked vehicles that were parked on a driveway.

CAR BURGLARY
A resident in the 2800 block of Leanne Court reported to police Nov. 25 at 1:01 p.m. that $600 in electronics and cash had been stolen from inside an unlocked vehicle parked in the driveway.

CAR BURGLARY
Electronics and cash totaling an unknown amount was stolen from inside two unlocked vehicles parked in the 4100 block of Crestwood Drive, police were told Nov. 25 at 4:59 p.m.

DISTURBANCE
An employee in the 3500 block of Milwaukee Avenue told police two customers were upset and yelling at him on Nov. 25 around 9:40 p.m.

RETAIL THEFT
Four unidentified people came into an unspecified store, grabbed $2,200 worth of clothing and ran out without paying, an employee in the 1900 block of Tower Drive told police Nov. 25 at 9:47 p.m.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE
On the morning of Nov. 26, a resident in the 700 block of Spruce Street reported did $400 worth of damage to landscaping and holiday lights in the front yard.

THEFT
An employee in the 1900 block of Pickwick Avenue told police Nov. 27 at 9:09 a.m. that someone took a wallet and cash worth $2,000 from inside a desk drawer.

ATTEMPTED IDENTITY THEFT
A resident in the 3900 block of Gloria Court told police on the morning of Nov. 27 that someone had used the resident’s personal information to order new credit cards without permission. There was no reported loss.

IDENTITY THEFT
A resident in the 1700 block of Grove Street reported on the afternoon of Nov. 27 that someone had tried to buy merchandise online using a fraudulent check. There was no reported loss.

CRIMINAL TRESPASS
An employee at an unspecified business the 2300 block of Capital Drive reported to police Nov. 27 at 3:16 p.m. that someone had come into the store after having been banned. The trespasser tried to leave the store without paying for merchandise, but there was no reported loss.

THEFT
An employee in the 1900 block of Johns Drive reported to police on the afternoon of Nov. 27 that someone had taken a business sign worth $100 from the entrance to a property.

THEFT
A guest in the 1800 block of Milwaukee Avenue told police Nov. 27 at 4:22 p.m. that someone stole an electronic tablet worth $500 that had been left behind at an unspecified business

THEFT
A resident in the 2700 block of Independence Boulevard reported to police Nov. 27 at 4:25 p.m. that someone had done $100 in damage to holiday lights that had been put on bushes.

RETAIL THEFT
An employee in the 1900 block of Tower Drive reported to police Nov. 27 at 7:03 p.m. that someone had put $1,500 worth of clothes into a bag and walked out of an unspecified store without paying for it.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT
An employee in the 2700 block of Patriot Boulevard told police on Nov. 27 at 7:48 p.m. that someone had come into the business after it was closed. After being told the unspecified business was not open, the unidentified person upset and started yelling.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE
An employee in the 2900 Independence reported to police Nov. 27 at 8:47 p.m. that holiday lights on two gazebos were damaged for a reported loss of $1,200.


ARRESTS/CITATIONS

Nicholas Ranieri, 24, of the 1000 block of Cove Drive, Prospect Heights, was arrested Nov. 21 at 3:13 a.m. and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration above 0.08 following a traffic stop in the 1500 block of Milwaukee Avenue.

John P. John, 44, of the 4600 block of Lilac Avenue, Glenview, was arrested at his home Nov. 21 at 9:30 a.m. and charged with disorderly conduct following an investigation.

James Mefferd, 57, of the 1300 block of West Maple Avenue, Mundelein, was arrested Nov. 21 at 2:28 p.m. and charged with telephone harassment following an investigation in the 500 block of Warren Road.

Dawid Golabek, 29, of the 10300 block of Michael Todd Terrace, was arrested Nov. 22 at 12:11 a.m. and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol following a traffic stop in the 600 block of Milwaukee Avenue. He was also issued a citation for improper lane usage.

Nicholas Lykins, 21, of the 1900 block of Chestnut Avenue was arrested Nov. 22 at 8:37 p.m. in the 1900 block of Chestnut Avenue and charged with domestic battery as well as for an active warrant issued by Chicago Police Department.

A 24-year-old Prospect Heights man was arrested Nov. 23 at 3:29 a.m. and charged with speeding 35 mph or more over the speed limit following a traffic stop in the 1200 block of Milwaukee Avenue.

A 38-year-old Glenview man was arrested Nov. 25 at 11:33 p.m. and charged with driving on a suspended or revoked license following a traffic crash investigation in the 1400 block of Waukegan Road.

An 18-year-old Mount Prospect man was arrested Nov. 26 at 7:23 a.m. and charged with speeding between 26 and 34 mph over the speed limit following a traffic stop in the 3300 block of East Lake Avenue.
