5 Homes Burglarized; Car, Scooter Stolen: Glenview Crime Reports

GLENVIEW, IL — The following information comes from the Glenview Police Department as a record of police activity and includes both incidents reported by the public and arrests made by police. Readers are reminded that an arrest is not an indicator of guilt and criminal charges represent merely accusations. All persons arrested are innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
INCIDENTS
ELECTRONIC HARASSMENT
On Nov. 14 at 8:08 a.m., a resident in the 2300 block of Indian Ridge Road reported receiving unwanted text messages.

HOME BURGLARY
On Nov. 14 at 7:48 p.m., a resident in the 2300 block of Carrington Way reported that someone had broken in through a side door and stolen more than $2,000 worth of jewelry from their home.
TELEPHONE HARASSMENT
On Nov. 15 at noon, a hotel patron in the 2600 block of Lehigh Avenue reported getting threatening telephone calls.

WALLET LEFT BEHIND, STOLEN
On Nov. 15 at 2:15 p.m., a customer at a store in the 1700 block of Waukegan Road reported a wallet worth $800 that had been left behind was missing when the customer returned.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE
On Nov. 15 at 3:52 p.m., a resident in the 800 block of Clover Court reported someone had damaged one of their vehicle’s mirrors for a loss of $500.
CAR BURGLARY
On Nov. 15 at 4:37 p.m., an employee in the 500 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported someone had entered an unlocked vehicle in the parking lot and stole a wallet worth $70.
NEIGHBOR DISPUTE
On Nov. 15 at 6:24 p.m., a resident in the 2200 block of Strawberry Lane reported someone bent plastic trim on their fence, but there was no loss reported..
THEFT
On Nov. 16 at 12:01 p.m., a resident in the 1800 block of George Court reported someone had taken took checks without permission and submitted them for payment for a reported loss of $250.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE
On Nov. 16 at 6:29 p.m., a patron in the 4200 block of Commercial Way reported someone did $500 damage to their vehicle by throwing a rock at it.
IDENTITY THEFT
On Nov. 17 at 1:19 p.m., an employee in the 1900 block of Chestnut Avenue reported someone had fraudulently obtained access to a savings account and withdrew more than $2,000 in funds.
HOME BURGLARY
On Nov. 17 at 2:13 p.m., a resident in the 2500 block of Indian Ridge Drive reported someone had broken into their home, damaging a door and stealing jewelry for loss of more than $2,000.
AFTERNOON BREAK-IN
On Nov. 17 at 4:45 p.m., a resident in the 600 block of Clearview Road reported someone entered their house by damaging a door, doing a reported $50 in damage. Police did not specify what, if anything, was stolen.
SCOOTER STOLEN FROM GARAGE
On Nov. 17 at 7:39 p.m., a resident in the 1900 block of Chestnut Avenue reported someone had stolen a $1,700 scooter from their garage.
CAR BURGLAR ENTERS ATTACHED GARAGE
On Nov. 18 at 9:59 p.m., a resident in the 1800 block of Waterbury Circle reported someone had managed to enter a garage using a remote control door opener that had been left inside an unlocked car parked in the driveway. A car parked in the driveway was also rummaged through. Luckily for the resident, the reported loss was only $60.
STOLEN CAR
On Nov. 18 at 10:02 a.m., a resident in the 4700 block of Lilac Avenue reported someone stole a vehicle from the driveway. The $35,000 vehicle was unlocked and the keys were inside.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE
On Nov. 18 at 2:08 p.m., a resident in the 2100 block of Ammer Ridge Road someone had scratched the rear passenger side door on their car for a reported loss of $100.
IDENTITY THEFT
On Nov. 18 at 3:14 p.m., a resident in the 1300 block of Pine Street reported someone had made $600 in unauthorized purchases using their credit card information.
UNLOCKED VEHICLE
On Nov. 18 at 11:32 p.m., a resident in the 4700 block of Laurel Avenue reported someone had entered an unlocked vehicle on the driveway, but nothing was reported stolen.
CAR BURGLARY
On Nov. 19 at 12:10 a.m., a resident in the 4600 block of Laurel Avenue reported someone stole $15 in change from inside of an unlocked vehicle parked in a driveway.
CRIMINAL TRESPASS
On Nov. 19 at 12:16 a.m., a resident in the 1500 block of Magnolia Street reported someone had entered an unlocked vehicle parked on the driveway and emptied the console and glove box contents onto the floor. Nothing was reported stolen.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE
Someone did a reported $300 in damage to a hand sanitizer machine and a cabinet inside the Glen train station, in the 2300 block of Lehigh Avenue, a train patron reported on Nov. 19 at 6:27 a.m.
CAR BURGLARY
On Nov. 19 at 9:37 a.m., a resident in the 4700 block of Locust Avenue reported someone had stolen $2,000 worth of clothing from an unlocked car that had been parked overnight.
CRIMINAL TRESPASS
On Nov. 19 at 10:11 a.m., a resident in the 4700 block of Locust Avenue reported someone entered an unlocked vehicle parked on her driveway during the overnight hours and scattered the contents of the glove box about the passenger cabin, although nothing was reported stolen.
RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY
On Nov. 19 at 11:30 a.m., a resident in the 2800 block of Covert Road reported someone stole more than $3,000 worth of property from a home after breaking in.
SUNDAY AFTERNOON SHOPLIFTING
- On Nov. 19 at 12:50 p.m., an employee in the 1900 block of Tower Drive reported someone took $23 worth of merchandise from a store shelf.
- On Nov. 19 at 1:58 p.m., an employee in the 2200 block of Willow Road reported someone took $64 worth of clothing from a display and left the store without paying for it.
- On Nov. 19 at 5:12 p.m., an employee in the 1900 block of Tower Drive reported someone took $38 worth of clothing from a shelf and walked out of the store without paying for it.
BUSINESS BURGLARIZED
Someone broke into a business through the back door and stole more than $300 in cash, an employee in the 9800 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported on Nov. 19 at 11:57 a.m.
TIMEPIECE THIEVED
On Nov. 19 at 3:52 hours, a resident in the 2400 block of Waukegan Road reported someone had stolen a $1,000 watch from inside a home.
PACKAGE PILFERED
On Nov. 19 at 4:35 hours, a resident in the 2000 block of Henley Street reported someone stole a package, worth $50, that had just been delivered to a front porch.
DISORDERLY CONDUCT
On Nov. 19 at 8:23, a resident in the 4100 block of Cove Lane called police to tell them someone had called them vulgar names.
ARRESTS/CITATIONS
Donald Stroud, 61, of the 1400 block of Blackthorn Drive, Glenview, was arrested on his block on Nov. 13 at 6:44 p.m. and charged with domestic battery, he was also arrested on a Cook County Warrant for a violation of a condition of his release from custody.
Peter H. Nelson, 31, of the 1600 block of Waukegan Road, Glenview, was arrested on Nov. 14 at 11:45 p.m., and charged with retail theft in the 1400 block of Waukegan Road.
A 31-year-old Chicago man was arrested Nov. 15 at 10:58 p.m., charged with driving on a suspended license and ticketed for having a small amount of cannabis.
Khashmargad Tuvshintugs, 23, of the 4100 block of Cove Lane, Glenview, was arrested Nov. 16 at 2 a.m. on an outstanding warrant for failure to appear in court in connection with a charge of driving under the influence.
Mariah Fox, 22, of the 4500 block of North Elston Avenue, Chicago, was arrested Nov. 16 at 8:05 a.m. and charged with retail theft after an investigation in the 100 block of Waukegan Road.
Rengay Frazier, 46, of the 7800 block of North Crawford Avenue, Skokie, was arrested Nov. 16 at 5:55 p.m. and subsequently charged with three counts of residential burglary after an investigation.

Maite Rosen, 72, of the 10000 block of Frontage Road, Skokie, was arrested Nov. 17 at 1:42 p.m. and charged with retail theft in the 2200 block of Willow Road.
Michal Michalski, 42, of the 5000 North East River Road, Norridge, was arrested Nov. 19 at 8:39 p.m. and charged with disorderly conduct in the 1700 block of Milwaukee Avenue.
Scott Spooner, 49, of the 1100 block of Pam Anne Drive, Glenview, was arrested Nov. 20 at 12:29 a.m. in the 1700 block of Waukegan Road and charged with aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol, as well as driving without insurance or a valid license. He was also ticketed for failing to properly yield.
