GLENVIEW, IL — The following information comes from the Glenview Police Department and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state and are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Every person arrested is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

INCIDENTS

CRIMINAL DAMAGE
Someone caused $100 in damage to a fieldhouse in a park in the 1000 block of Milwaukee Avenue by knocking an automated electronic defibrillator from a wall prior to 9:30 p.m. Nov. 5.

LOST PROPERTY
A resident in the 1800 block of Dunhill Circle reported they lost a laptop valued at $400 on Oct. 2.

BATTERY
Someone reported being battered in the 1600 block of Pleasant Lane prior to 10 a.m. on Nov. 8 after they accused a person of stealing their sunglasses a week ago. The offender fled prior to the arrival of police, who did not provide a description.

THEFT
A resident in the 2200 block of Janet Drive reported someone stole a ceramic flower pot off their front porch between 6:15 and 7:03 p.m. Nov. 9 for a loss of $550.

ATTEMPTED UNLAWFUL ACQUISITION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE
Staff of a pharmacy in the 3700 block of Willow Road reported around 2 p.m. Nov. 10 that they received a call about a half-hour earlier from a person claiming to be a doctor who tried to order a prescription for a controlled substance, purportedly for a patient. When the employee called the doctor's office to verify, they were told no doctor had made any such request. The caller eventually hung up and no one arrived to try to pick up the pharmaceuticals.

NEIGHBOR DISPUTES

  • A resident in the 300 block of Ferndale Road reported around 11:30 a.m. Nov. 7 that they had gotten into an dog walking-related argument with a neighbor.
  • A resident in the 1800 block of Tower Road reported around 9:15 p.m. Nov. 7 that they got into an argument with a neighbor because their neighbor had burnt food while cooking and caused smoke to build up in a shared hallway.

IDENTITY THEFTS

  • A Robincrest Lane resident reported someone used their identity to open up an account at a credit union between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Nov. 4.
  • An Iroquois Drive resident reported on Nov. 9 that someone used their credit card number to make an unauthorized $66.50 purchase at a business in the 900 block of Greenwood Road around 11:45 a.m. Oct. 26.

CAR BURGLARIES

  • Someone stole a drum machine worth $1,200 from a plumber's work van parked in the 1500 block of Brandon Road at some point prior to 11:15 a.m. Nov. 5.
  • Someone stole $565 worth of items from a car left unlocked in the 2200 block of Waukegan Road between 6 and 8 p.m. Nov. 5.
  • Someone stole a tent and a climbing harness worth $350 from a car parked in the 800 block of Echo Lane between 10:30 p.m. Nov. 9 and 6:07 a.m. Nov. 10.
  • Someone burglarized a car parked in a driveway in the 700 block of Arbor Lane, rummaging through its interior without stealing anything.
  • A resident in the 300 block of Glenview Road reported someone stole about $5 in loose change from a car left unlocked between 3 p.m. Nov. 9 and 2 p.m. Nov. 10.
  • Someone burglarized a car parked in the 900 block of Echo Lane at some point between Nov. 9 and Nov. 11, rummaging through the interior without stealing anything.
  • Someone stole an engine management tool worth $675 that had been mounted to the dashboard of a car in the 4000 block of Crestwood Drive between 7 p.m. Nov. 8 and 7:30 p.m. Nov. 10.

ARRESTS/CITATIONS

Maximillian Brown, 30, of the 2100 block of West Cermak Avenue, Chicago, and Pedro Vargas-Munoz, 23, of the 5800 block of South California Avenue, Chicago, were arrested in the 2300 block of Capitol Drive around 12:45 a.m. Nov. 5, and charged with the Oct. 21 theft of $1,911.50 worth of plastic crates from a business in the 1500 block of Waukegan Road.

A 19-year-old Evanston woman was arrested around noon on Nov. 6 and charged with driving with a suspended driver's license following a traffic stop in the 1300 block of East Lake Avenue. She was also issued a ticket for speeding between 15 and 20 mph above the speed limit.

A 32-year-old Chicago man was arrested around 3:30 p.m. Nov. 6 in the 1900 block of East Lake Avenue and charged with driving with a suspended license following a traffic stop.

Mariusz Niebrydowski, 30, of the 1800 block of Mura Lane, Mount Prospect, was arrested around 8:30 p.m. Nov. 6 in the 2600 block of Navy Boulevard and charged with domestic battery and interfering with the reporting of a domestic battery after officers investigated a report of a battery.

Kristin Lajeunesse, 36, of the 4800 block of North Hermitage Avenue, Chicago, was arrested around 1:30 p.m. Nov. 7 in the 2500 East Lake Avenue and charged with retail theft after an investigation determined she stole $132.83 worth of merchandise from a store on the 2700 block of Old Willow Road on Oct. 21.

Two 18-year-old women were issued local ordinance citations for retail theft around 8 p.m. Nov. 7 after they were caught stealing $674 worth of clothing and jewelry from a store in the 2000 block of Tower Drive.

Edward H. Strong, 30, of the 400 block of Royal Troon Drive, Aurora, was arrested around 10 a.m. Nov. 8 and charged with battery following an investigation at a business in the 1500 block of Milwaukee Avenue.

Mike Amin, 48, of the 1100 block of Bette Lane, Glenview, was arrested around 1 p.m. Nov. 8 and charged with battery and criminal damage to property following an investigation in a parking lot of a business in the 2800 block of Patriot Boulevard.

Sandra I. Calvillo, 30, of the 1800 block of Goodwin Drive, Palatine, was arrested around 3:30 p.m. Nov. 8 in the 800 block of Central Road, Arlington Heights, on a pair of outstanding Glenview warrants issued in connection with charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and leaving the scene of an accident.

A 48-year-old Prospect Heights man was arrested around 5 p.m. Nov. 8 and charged with no valid driver's license after officers investigated a traffic crash in the 2500 block of East Lake Avenue.

Amar Smajlovic, 33, of the 7600 block of Beckwith Road, Morton Grove, was arrested around 8 p.m. Nov. 9 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol with a breath alcohol concentration of 0.08 or more and leaving the scene of a traffic crash following an investigation into a crash at the intersection of Golf and Shermer roads. He was also issued a citation for improper backing.

An 18-year-old woman was issued a local ordinance citation for minor in possession of alcohol around 10 p.m. Nov. 9 after police were called to a report of a possible underage drinking party in the 2100 block of Saipan Drive.

A 67-year-old woman was issued a local ordinance citation around 3:15 p.m. Nov. 10 after she was caught stealing a women's shit worth $118 from a store in the 2000 block of Tower Drive.
