Arsonist 'Completely Burns Down' Port-O-Potty: Glenview Blotter
Reported road rage incidents result in threats, attempted robbery: Glenview Police Department Blotter for Oct. 31 to Nov. 6.

GLENVIEW, IL — The following information comes from the Glenview Police Department and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state and are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Every person arrested is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
INCIDENTS
POSSIBLE PROWLER
A resident in the 1100 block of Highland Lane reported that their surveillance cameras captured video of a man wearing a utility vest and carrying a clipboard walking around their home around 9:30 a.m. Oct. 29. He left in an unidentified vehicle. When asked, a utility company representative said none of its workers were in the area at the time.
BATTERY
A driver working for a ride-hailing company reported around 12:15 p.m. Oct. 29 that someone had pushed them and hit them in the mouth in the 200 block of North Branch Road after a driving-related argument.

CAR BURGLARIES
- A resident in the 2100 block of Henley Street reported someone stole sunglasses worth $168 from an unlocked car parked in their driveway from 10 p.m. Oct. 28 to 8 a.m. Oct. 29.
- Police were told on Nov. 2 that someone shattered the front driver's side window of a car parked in the 3800 block of Willow Road and stole an empty purse from the seat for a loss of $600.
GARAGE FIRE
Police were called around 4 a.m. to the 1800 block of Chestnut Road for a report of a fire in a garage. The resident reported they had been awakened by their fire alarm. A parked car was damaged but there were no injuries. Read more...

SCAM ATTEMPT
The owner of a Glenview Road business reported getting an automated call purporting to come from a utility company. It claimed the business owner owned money, but they recognized it was a scam and there was no monetary loss.
VERBAL HARASSMENT
An employee of a business in the 1600 block of East Lake Avenue reported around 3 p.m. Oct. 31 that a co-worker had verbally harassed them.
ROAD RAGE
A Magnolia Street resident reported around 3:30 p.m. Oct. 31 that they had gotten into a driving dispute with another driver. At the stoplight on East Lake Avenue at Greenwood Road, the other driver knocked on the resident's window and threatened them before driving away.
THEFTS
- Someone stole a coat, pair of gloves and keys worth a combined $300 prior to 6 p.m. Oct. 31 at a business in the 1300 block of Waukegan Road.
- Someone stole an unlocked bicycle worth $500 from a rack in the 1000 block of Waukegan Road.
- Someone broke into a wooden donation box in the 3500 block of Thornwood Avenue, where St Catherine Laboure Catholic Church is located. Police were uncertain if there was any money in the box at the time but the damage was estimated at $100.
IDENTITY THEFT
A Greenwood Road resident reported on the morning of Nov. 1 that someone had made several unauthorized online purchases using their credit card. The financial loss was unknown at the time of the report.
STOLEN VEHICLE FOUND
A car stolen in Chicago was found in the 2000 block of John's Drive, Glenview.
ARSON
Someone "completely burned down" a portable toilet in the 3600 block of Glenview Road, causing $1,000 in damage.
ROBBERY ATTEMPT
A motorist reported around 10:30 p.m. Nov. 2 that another driver had gotten out of their car, threatened them and tried to their belonging following a driving dispute in the area of Golf and Waukegan roads. The motorist told police they locked themselves in the car and the other driver left.
EMERGENCY LANDING
Police and firefighter were called to the Glen Club golf course, 2901 West Lake Ave., around 2:30 p.m. Nov. 3 for a report of a small aircraft on the 13th fairway. A single-engine Cessna ran out of gas on its way to Chicago Executive Airport in Wheeling. There were no injuries and the Federal Aviation Administration is investigating. Read more...

ARRESTS/CITATIONS
Nicholas Lekas, 59, of the 3200 block of West Lake Avenue, Glenview, was arrested around 12:45 a.m. Oct. 29 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of drugs and expired driver's license following a traffic stop in the 1300 block of Patriot Boulevard. He was also issued traffic citations for , speeding 15 to 20 mph over the limit and improper lane usage.
Robert Reimann, 24, of the 700 block of 7th Street, Northfield, was arrested around 8:30 a.m. Oct. 29 at his home and charged with domestic battery following an investigation into a complaint of a battery.
A 26-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested around 1:30 p.m. Oct. 29 and charged with driving with a revoked license and no valid license. He was also issued citations for operating a vehicle while using an electronic device, operating a vehicle without insurance, expired registration and no seat belt.
A 44-year-old Wheeling man was arrested around 7 p.m. Nov. 1 and charged with driving with a suspended license and ticketed for speeding following a traffic stop in the 1700 block of East Lake Avenue.
Peter H. Nelson, 33, with no permanent address, was arrested around 3 p.m. Nov. 3 by officers called to a report of trespassing at a business in the 1500 block of Waukegan Road. They found Nelson had an active warrant for violating the terms of his parole and returned him to the custody of the Illinois Department of Corrections.
