Downtown Glenview Will Be Jamming For Blocktoberfest 2024

GLENVIEW, IL — On one of the last days of summer, Glenview will be jamming. Blocktoberfest 2024 will rock downtown Glenview next month, with organizers promising the annual event will "bring the community together to build excitement for the heart of downtown and beyond."

Glenview Blocktoberfest will run from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, in downtown Glenview along Glenview Road. The family-friendly event is free.

The musical headliner is Jambon, which features jammin’ guitars, heavy horns, a Hammond organ and lively vocals in a "funky, energetic show." The band is made up of some of Chicago's finest session musicians and former members of Sonia Dada, Liquid Soul and Weather Report. Organizers said the band will close the day with a two-hour performance.

Blocktoberfest 2024 will feature a jam-packed line-up of live music, food and family entertainment, including by popular demand a first-ever special DJ dance party starring the songs of Taylor Swift.

The event is presented by the Friends of Downtown Glenview with support from Busey Bank and other sponsors. Food and beverages, including a variety of beer, wine and hard seltzer, will be available for purchase.

For the music portion, there will be two stages, starting at 11 a.m. with the German-inspired band Euro Express, followed by a revolving line-up of Blue Rose, Hot Like Mars, No Turn On Red, Jaik Willis, Joey Acopiado, Paraquot, Taylor Party by Operation Glow, Twelve Tone House Band, and Band of Very Ordinary Musicians.

There will also be an activity-filled Kid Zone with crafts, games, balloon art and more from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

A special sponsor lounge offering premium views of the bands plus several other amenities including deluxe restrooms, food, drinks and merchandise can be enjoyed for $100 per person when purchased in advance here.
