GLENVIEW, IL — The following information comes from the Glenview Police Department (unless otherwise noted) and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police. Ryan Hunt, 38, of the 200 block of Dickens Road, Northfield, is accused of criminal trespass, and was arrested at 3:51 p.m. Dec. 2 in the 1200 block of Milwaukee Avenue. He was released after posting a $100 bond, and assigned a court date of Jan. 14, 2021 in Skokie.

Diane Hansen, 63, of Northbrook, is accused of domestic battery, and was arrested at 11:36 p.m. Dec. 2. She was processed and held at the Glenview Police Station for a bond hearing on Dec. 3 in Skokie.

INCIDENTS

THEFT

  • A resident of Mount Prospect called police at 4:35 p.m. Nov. 30 to report a rifle was stolen from the garage of a relative’s house in the 3200 block of Potter Road sometime in 2013. Total reported loss is $200.
  • A Brush Hill Lane resident reported at 3:39 p.m. Dec. 2 that her BMO Harris Bank checking account was closed due to fraudulent activity. The resident learned someone wrote multiple unauthorized checks against the account.
  • A citizen called police at 4:28 p.m. Dec. 3 to report leaving her wallet inside the bathroom at a business in the 2700 block of Pfingsten Road at 7:57 a.m. They came back to the store and no one turned the wallet in. A surveillance video shows a female. Total reported loss $1,920.
  • An employee of a business in the 2100 block of Pfingsten Road reported at 3:38 p.m. Dec. 4 someone stole a Nintendo Switch gaming console from their backpack. Total reported loss is $300.
  • A resident in the 1700 block of Wagner Road called police at 7:14 p.m. Dec. 6 to report an unknown person stole a political banner from the front yard during the overnight hours. Total reported loss is $50.

HARASSMENT BY TELEPHONE

A business owner in the 3000 block of North Lake Terrace reported at 10:33 a.m. Dec. 1 receiving threatening voicemails from an unhappy customer.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT

  • A resident in the 900 block of Shermer Road called police at 5:37 p.m. Dec. 1 to report receiving a threat from a neighbor through a third party.
  • A resident in the 1600 block of Waukegan Road reported at 12:07 p.m. Dec. 7 having a verbal dispute with a neighbor.
  • An employee of a business in the 2100 block of Pfingsten Road called police at 4:34 p.m. Dec. 7 to report receiving a threatening telephone call.

AGGRAVATED IDENTITY THEFT

A Shermer Road resident reported at 6:43 p.m. Dec. 1 that someone opened three accounts using their personal information. The accounts were with AT&T, Spectrum, and Comcast.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY

  • A resident in the 2000 block of Swainwood Drive called police at 9:04 p.m. Dec. 1 to report seeing a male wearing a red sweatshirt inside her house while they were inside the garage. The male left through the kitchen door. The area was searched and the male was not found. There is no reported loss.
  • A resident in the 1400 block of Estate Lane reported at 2:26 p.m. Dec. 3 that a male came to his door, stated he was on a construction crew that broke a water line next door and needed to check their basement for water. The resident took the male down to the basement to check the water. After a few minutes, the male received a telephone call and left. Jewelry went missing from the upstairs bedroom. Total reported loss $9,663.54.
  • A resident in the 3900 block of Charlie Court called police at 2:54 p.m. Dec. 3 to report a male who identified himself as “Steven” came to his door and stated he was cutting down trees in the area. The male asked the homeowner to go outside to show them trees that needed to be cut down. After a few minutes, the male left in a newer model black Chevrolet pickup truck and drove westbound on Charlie Court. A relative inside the house saw two males enter the house, one went upstairs and the other went downstairs. They did not see them leave. Numerous drawers were found open inside the residence afterwards. There is no reported loss at this time.
  • A resident in the 1200 block of Castle Drive reported at 8:48 p.m. Dec. 7 someone entered his residence between 4:20-5 p.m. Dec. 5. There is no reported loss at this time.

BATTERY

  • An employee of a business in the 9800 block of Milwaukee Avenue called police at 3:52 p.m. Dec. 2 to report a customer in the drive-thru was upset when he was given part of his order and had to wait for the remaining items. The customer threw the bag at the employee. The vehicle left the scene southbound on Milwaukee Avenue.
  • An employee of a business in the 9700 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported at 12:41 p.m. Dec. 5 a regular customer came into the store with a female. The female came behind the counter and hit the employee.
  • A customer waiting in line at a business in the 3800 block of Willow Road reported at 6:15 p.m. Dec. 6 that another customer, Daniel Levy, 30, of Wheeling, called him a derogatory name for not wearing his mask over his nose. An argument ensued and Levy spat on the other man. Levy was issued a Village ordinance citation for battery.

BURGLARY

  • The owner of a business in the 1700 block of Glenview Road called police at 9:11 a.m. Dec. 4 to report that they observed an unknown male inside the back of the store. The male fled out the back door with employee’s purses. Total reported loss is $600.
  • A guest of a business in the 1800 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported at 11:21 p.m. Dec. 5 someone took their company telephone from the unlocked rental car parked in the lot. Total reported loss is $350.

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT

A driver called police at 10:42 a.m. Dec. 4 to report getting into a driving dispute in the 1700 block of Milwaukee Avenue. The other driver displayed a handgun while they yelled at each other. The other driver was last seen driving northbound on Milwaukee Avenue.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY

A citizen reported at 3:39 p.m. Dec. 4 that someone broke off the driver side door handle on their vehicle while it was parked in the parking lot in the 1400 block of Waukegan Road. Total reported damage is $300.

RETAIL THEFT

  • An employee of a business in the 1400 block of Waukegan Road reported at 5:07 p.m. Dec. 4 two people entered the store and stole two boxes of Xyzal allergy medicine. The duo left the store and fled westbound through the parking lot. Total reported loss is $80.
  • An employee of a business in the 2700 block of Pfingsten Road called police at 5:28 p.m. Dec. 4 to report two people entered the store and stole numerous boxes of allergy medication, heartburn medication, vitamins, and cosmetic products. The pair left the store and fled eastbound Willow Road in an unknown white SUV. Total reported loss is $1,500.
  • An employee of a business in the 1900 block of Tower Drive reported at 10:21 p.m. Dec. 5 a male left the store with a duffle bag, jacket, and sweatpants without paying for the items. He was last seen getting into a black vehicle and heading eastbound towards Tower Drive. Total reported loss is $250.
  • An employee of a business in the 1300 block of Patriot Boulevard called police at 5:53 p.m. Dec. 7 to report seeing two males and a female exit the store with a shopping cart full of liquor bottles. The employee confronted the trio in the parking lot and was able to recover all the liquor bottles having a total value of $989.82.

IDENTITY THEFT

There were 16 reported identity thefts between Dec. 1-7 related to the ongoing Illinois Department of Employment Security identity theft fraud.
