Ex-Caregiver Shows Up At Home, Grabs Resident: Glenview Police Blotter

The resident said the former caregiver had been fired five years ago, according to police.

Jessica Quatraro, 41, of the 1600 block of Winnetka Road, Glenview, had a warrant on a Glenview bond forfeiture, and was arrested at 2:51 p.m. Aug. 30, at the Glenview police station. Quatraro did not post bond and was taken to the Skokie Courthouse for a bond hearing.

Jordan Webster, 42, of the 300 block of Whitewater Drive, Bolingbrook, is accused of retail theft, theft by emergency exit, and was arrested at 9:15 a.m. Aug. 26, following an investigation into an incident that occurred on Nov. 30, 2023, at Costco, 2900 Patriot Blvd. He was released and assigned a court date of Sept. 3.

FAILURE TO APPEAR

Thomas Lach, 40, of the 200 block of Morris Avenue, Lombard, had two warrants out of DuPage County for failure to appear, and was arrested at 6:30 a.m. Aug. 28, at Glenbrook Hospital, 2100 Pfingsten Road. He was released and assigned court dates of Oct. 16 and Oct. 17.

INCIDENTS

RETAIL THEFT

  • Employees of a business in the 600 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported at 9:48 a.m. Aug. 28, a person had been earlier in the day stealing liquor had returned. They wanted the person given a trespass warning. Officers spoke with the person, who admitted to stealing the liquor. They were transported to Lutheran General Hospital for medical care and they were given a trespass warning not to return.
  • Employees of a business in the 2700 block of Pfingsten Road reported on Aug. 29 a retail theft that had occurred 11 day earlier. Surveillance video shows a male and female took several over-the-counter medications, including Nexium, Prilosec, Align, Claritin, Nasacort, and Flonase, with a total loss of $1,970.37. The two fled northbound on foot across Willow Road, then entered a silver Honda hatchback.
  • Employees of a business in the 1900 block of Tower Drive reported at 11:13 a.m. Aug. 30, a Chicago resident had concealed several items and left the store without paying. All the items were recovered and they were issued a Village Ordinance Citation and trespassed from the store. Estimated value: $425.11.

HARASSMENT BY ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATION

A Jenna Road resident reported at 11:41 a.m. Aug. 28, an ex-partner from Highland Park had texted them, threatening to send their family and job graphic videos/photos of them in sexual situations. They do not want to sign complaints, but want to make sure the videos do not get sent.

THEFT

  • A Yale Court resident called police at 1:56 p.m. Aug. 28, to report listing a recliner for sale on Nextdoor. They were contacted by someone, who agreed to send the payment through Zelle. The buyer said the amount was too high for Zelle, and they needed to set a business account. The buyer asked the seller to send $400 to upgrade their account, and they would send it back, which the seller complied. The buyer said it didn’t go through and to try sending $600, which the buyer complied. The seller then told them to try sending $1,000, which the buyer complied. Citibank told the buyer that they could not retrieve the money. Total loss is $2,000.
  • A Rugen Road resident reported at 7:04 a.m. Aug. 29, someone on the telephone had scammed them into depositing $12,500 into a Bitcoin account.
  • A Rutgers Court resident called police at 3:06 p.m. Aug. 31, to report being scammed after being contacted by someone who pretended to be a Xfinity employee. The person directed them to withdraw $9,500 from their bank account and deposit it into Bitcoin machine. After the first transaction was complete, the person directed them to withdraw more money, however an alert bank employee recognized they were being scammed and prevented additional monetary loss.

BATTERY

A resident in the 2500 block of Indigo Lane reported at 10:30 a.m. Aug. 28, an ex-caregiver who resides in Buffalo Grove had come into the residence uninvited, grabbing them by the shoulder. The ex-caregiver had been fired five years ago. They left after 15 minutes.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE

A Niles resident reported on Aug. 28 their vehicle had been scratched along both passenger during the overnight hours while they were working at a business in the 3300 block of Milwaukee Avenue.

TRESPASS WARNING

A group of residents reported at 7:33 p.m. Aug. 28, a male coming in and out of the bushes in the 1000 block of Zenith Dr, watching children play soccer. Officers spoke with the male, who said he is homeless. Officers gave the male a trespass warning not to return, which he said he understood.

SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT

  • A resident in the 2400 block of Saranac Lane reported that at 9:30 a.m. Aug. 28, a male had rung their doorbell. The male delivered a brown box with a handwritten note on the front that said, “food.” They told him that they did not order anything, and he took the box back, returning to a white Sprinter van, unknown registration.
  • Employees of a business in the 2700 block of Patriot Boulevard reported at 1:38 p.m. Sept. 2, someone had got upset because of the long wait and made comments about getting a shotgun and going "hunting." They left the area prior to police arrival after being told they could not refill medication. Officers spoke to them via telephone and they said they were ok and did not need any further assistance. They denied any threat was made.

IDENTITY THEFT
A Winnetka Road resident reported on Aug. 30 that four days earlier, someone had used their personal identifying information in an attempt to open credit union accounts in New Hampshire. None of the attempts were successful and no reported loss at this time.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY
A resident of the 2600 block of Landwehr Road called police at 1:40 a.m. Aug. 31, to report someone had put a bag of burning feces on their porch and damaged the welcome mat. The estimated loss is $50.

DISTURBANCE

Police responded to a business in the 1800 block of Milwaukee Avenue at 8:48 p.m. Aug. 31, for a report of a large loud party and people smoking marijuana. No one was found inside the room and no damage was reported by the management.

ASSAULT

An employee of a business in the 9800 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported at 11:11 a.m. Sept. 2, a customer residing from Ohio threw coffee at them after they refused to give a free cup of coffee. They were not hit with the coffee. The customer was given a trespass warning not to return.

INTIMIDATION

A Springdale Avenue resident called police at 1:43 p.m. Sept. 2, to report receiving an email to an old email account they don’t use anymore in which the sender said they installed “Pegasus” and requested to be paid $2,000 in Bitcoin. The sender said they have compromising pictures/videos of them visiting porn sites and will send it to their family and friends in their contact list. They did not pay any money and wanted the incident documented.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT

A Prospect Heights resident reported at 4:46 p.m. Sept. 2, being at a business in the 3300 block of Milwaukee Avenue. A male walked up to them and pointed a blue object in their face, swearing at them. He then left with a suitcase and walked away northbound. Officers identified the male, an Alsip resident, who had a torch lighter on his person. He said he was going to “burn her third eye.” He refused medical care and left the scene.

FLEEING/ELUDING POLICE

Police received a Flock Safety alert at 7:15 p.m. Sept. 2, receiving a Flock Safety alert for a vehicle that was southbound Patriot Boulevard from Willow Road after stealing several bottles of liquor from a nearby jurisdiction. Officers located the vehicle behind in the 1900 block of Tower Drive, which traveled eastbound Chestnut Avenue, to southbound Waukegan Road, to eastbound East Lake Avenue. The vehicle traveled 60 mph in a 35 mph zone and did not stop for emergency lights. Officers terminated the attempted traffic stop and did not pursue the vehicle.
