Glenview PD Acknowledges Walgreens Armed Robbery
A day after a Patch report, Glenview police issued a press release.

GLENVIEW, IL — Nearly a week after an armed robber struck a Glenview Walgreens—and one day after Patch reported it—the Glenview Police Department issued a press release acknowledging the incident and seeking information from the public.
Prior to sending out the release Thursday afternoon, Glenview police had repeatedly declined to provide any information about the robbery.
The department did not respond to repeated requests for clarification about the timing of the release, which adds some additional details to what Patch was able to report Wednesday.

After taking about $350 from Walgreens employees, the robber fled the store on foot, heading north, police said.
Glenview police said detectives are still investigating and asked anyone with any information about the incident to call 847-901-6055 or e-mail the Glenview Police Department tipline.
The incident is just the second reported armed robbery so far in 2017, according to Glenview Police Sergeant James Foley.
In March, two men and a woman between the ages of 24 and 27 allegedly carried out a series of armed robberies in Glenview, Des Plaines and elsewhere before being arrested by Niles police.
