Glenview Pool Closes Again As 3 More Lifeguards Have Coronavirus
Five lifeguards at the Flick Outdoor Aquatic Center have been diagnosed with COVID-19 in less than a week.

GLENVIEW, IL — Three more lifeguards at the Flick Outdoor Aquatic Center have tested positive for COVID-19. The Glenview Park District said Wednesday the pool is closing, effective immediately. This marks five lifeguards on staff who have been diagnosed with the coronavirus in less than a week.
Officials said Wednesday night that the pool will remain closed until further notice.

The park district said the three newly-diagnosed lifeguards were not at the facility Wednesday.
The center reopened on Wednesday after closing last Thursday when two other lifeguards were diagnosed with the coronavirus.

"We are reporting to the Illinois Department of Public Health and following all state guidelines to ensure public safety," the Glenview Park District said in a press release. "We do not have any other details and this time and will provide more details later this evening through email and our website."
Last week, all aquatics staff attended a virtual retraining on safety policies related to COVID-19, according to the Glenview Park District. The facility and buildings had remained vacant and untouched over the weekend.
