Resident threatened with gun in garage as car is stolen; Scam artist used fake video ruse for Bitcoin transfer try: Glenview Police Blotter

GLENVIEW, IL — The following information comes from the Glenview Police Department and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state and are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Every person arrested is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
INCIDENTS
RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY
- A resident in the 900 block of Echo Lane reported at around 9:28 a.m. May 18 unknown individuals entered an unlocked vehicle in the driveway during the overnight hours and then utilized the garage door opener in the vehicle to access the garage and another vehicle.
- A resident in the 1600 block of Hawthorne Lane called police at 8:24 p.m. May 20 to report at some time between 4:30 p.m. and 8:25 p.m. on May 20, someone removed a gray bicycle from an open garage.
IDENTITY THEFT

- A resident in the 3000 block of Independence Avenue reported at 10:05 a.m. May 18 an unknown person used their identity to file an unemployment claim with the Illinois Department of Employment Security.
- A West Ridgewood Lane resident called police at 9:44 a.m. May 22 to report an unknown person used their personal information to open a Verizon Wireless account, and attempted to open a Capital One Walmart credit card as well. Both account were canceled.
CRIMINAL TRESPASS — VEHICLE
- A resident in the 1000 block of Queens Lane reported at 10:18 a.m. May 18 unknown individuals entered two unlocked vehicles parked in a driveway during the overnight hours. It appears nothing was taken.
- A resident in the 3100 block of Dell Place called police at 12:31 p.m. May 18 to report during the overnight hours, unknown individuals entered two parked vehicles in the driveway. It appears the vehicles were unlocked and nothing is missing at this time.
- A resident in the 2000 block of Linneman Street reported at 4:11 p.m. May 18 unknown individuals entered their unlocked car parked in the driveway during the overnight hours. Nothing appeared to be missing.
- A resident in the 2000 block of Robincrest Lane called police at 8:03 p.m. May 18 to report unknown individuals entered two unlocked vehicles parked in the driveway during the overnight hours. Nothing appeared missing from the vehicles.
- A resident reported at 12:37 a.m. May 25 a vehicle parked on the street had the front driver side window shattered between 5 p.m. May 24 and 12:37 a.m. May 25. A small rock was observed on the driver seat and the center console was open but undisturbed.
STOLEN VEHICLE

- A resident called police at 11:10 a.m. May 18 to report unknown individuals stole their car during the overnight hours. The vehicle was unlocked and keys were left in the vehicle. Information from Chicago Police report the vehicle being sighted in the area of the 7th District.
- A resident in the 100 block of Ardmore Avenue reported at 8:53 a.m. May 22 an unknown person stole their vehicle from the driveway of the residence between 9 p.m. May 21 and the time of the report. It is believed the vehicle was unlocked and the key fob was left inside the vehicle.
BURGLARY FROM VEHICLE
- A resident in the 900 block of Arbor Lane called police at 2:25 p.m. May 18 to report their home security cameras captured two unknown people at 4:03 a.m. May 18 walk up the driveway and enter an unlocked vehicle parked in the driveway.
- A resident in the 1800 block of Linneman Street reported at 9:21 a.m. May 20 unknown individuals entered their unlocked vehicle during the overnight and removed $10 in change.
THEFT
A Chestnut Avenue resident called police at 4:38 p.m. May 18 to report he purchased a vehicle through Facebook Marketplace and never received the item.
HOME INVASION
A resident in the 3100 block of Springdale Avenue reported at 4:27 a.m. May 19 they opened the garage door and sat in their vehicle in the attached garage. An unknown person came up to the window and held a gun up to them and told them to get out of the car and get on the ground. The resident complied and went to the ground. The resident began to scream and a second person came up and told them to be quiet. The first person with the firearm entered the driver’s seat of the vehicle. The second person and a third individual entered the rear seats. The vehicle backed out and left the area. A neighbor reported hearing the screams and saw a white SUV parked at the end of the resident’s driveway. The stolen vehicle, in an attempt to leave the area quickly, struck the SUV and then both vehicles left westbound on Springdale. Wilmette Police and Illinois State Police attempted to stop the vehicle on the Edens but terminated the pursuit due to safety.
DISORDERLY CONDUCT
- A Glenview Road resident called police at 2:32 p.m. May 21 to report receiving a text message threatening to expose them with a video of them masturbating if they did not transfer Bitcoin to a specific address. The resident denied any video exists and refused to cooperate.
- A resident in the 100 block of Waukegan Road reported at 8:51 a.m. May 25 that between 9 p.m. May 24 and the time of the report an unknown person placed a used condom on the door knob.
HARASSMENT BY TELEPHONE
A Lexington Lane resident called police at 2:45 p.m May 21 to report they received numerous harassing text messages.
FLEEING AND ELUDING THE POLICE
- A resident reported at 4:36 p.m. May 21 observing two females steal a bicycle from the 1300 block of Sanford Lane. The females put the bicycle in the truck of their vehicle and fled the area. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle, but the vehicle fled away from the officers at a high rate of speed.
- A stolen car was seen driving on Harlem Avenue near McArthur Drive 2:01 a.m. May 26. An attempt to stop the vehicle resulted in the unknown driver to speed away southbound on Harlem Avenue. Morton Grove police observed the vehicle run a red light at Dempster Street and Central Avenue. The vehicle got onto the Edens Expressway, going eastbound.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY
- A resident in the 2500 block of Waterview Drive called police to report between 10 a.m. May 20 and 6 a.m. May 21 an unknown person attempted to pry open the door on their vehicle, causing damage to the vehicle’s door.
- A resident in the 2500 block of Waterview Drive reported that between 5 p.m. May 15 and 6 a.m. May 16 an unknown person keyed their vehicle while parked in the parking garage.
BATTERY
A Waukegan Road resident called police at 10:21 a.m. May 22 to report being battered by a known associate. The resident was grabbed and scratched.
RETAIL THEFT
An employee of a business in the 2500 block of Waukegan Road reported at 8:50 May 23 observing a male and a female placing over the counter medications into their jacket pockets. The two individuals then left the store and fled the area in a tan colored sedan.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE
- A resident in the 600 block of Beaver Road called police at 10:20 a.m. May 25 to report an unknown person broke out a window on the north side of a park fieldhouse in the 500 block of Echo Lane.
- A resident in the 900 block of Juniper Road reported at 12:05 p.m. May 25 finding the trampoline mat, two soccer balls, a football and another game ball were damaged in their backyard by unknown people. A cutting tool was used to damage the mat and balls.
- A resident in the 900 block of Indian Road called police to report between 10 p.m. May 24 and 12:45 p.m. May 25 an unknown person gained entry to their unlocked garage located behind the home and punctured six car tires on two of vehicles located inside the garage.
- A person reported at 6:18 p.m. May 25 an unknown person(s) damaged the windshield of their vehicle while it was parked in the 1300 block of Glenview Road.
ARRESTS
FELONY DWI
Martin Terrones, 37, of 2252 E St. Louis, Chicago, is accused of aggravated driving while under the influence, driving under the influence of alcohol, driving with a blood alcohol level of .08 or more, driving with a suspended driver's license and improper lane usage. He was arrested at 8:03 p.m. May 23 during a traffic stop in the 300 block of East Lake Avenue. Terrones was given a court date of July 2.
DOMESTIC BATTERY
Alexander Reznikov, 34, of 1723 Wildberry Drive A, is accused of domestic battery and was arrested at 9:28 p.m. May 23. He was given a court date of May 24.
