GLENVIEW, IL — The following information comes from the Glenview Police Department (unless otherwise noted) and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state and are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court.

Every person arrested is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

DRIVING ON A SUSPENDED DRIVER'S LICENSE

  • Alan Vahosky, 35, of the 8600 block of North National Avenue, Niles, is accused of driving on a suspended driver's license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, operating a vehicle while using an electronic communication device, and was arrested at 4:10 p.m. July 8 in the 9700 block of Milwaukee Avenue following a traffic stop. He was given a $2,500 bond and a court date of Aug. 7.
  • Kierra Boyce, 29, of the 3400 block of West Franklin Boulevard, Chicago, is accused of driving with a suspended/revoked driver's license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, failure to signal when required, and was arrested following a traffic stop at 9:10 p.m. July 9 in the 1500 block of Milwaukee Avenue. She was released on a $2,500 bond and given a court date of Aug. 13.

VIOLATION OF AN ORDER OF PROTECTION

Cassandra Sapieha, 33, of the 1700 block of Algonquin Road, Mount Prospect, is accused of violating an order of protection in Glenview, and was arrested at 5:05 p.m. July 8.

IDENTITY THEFT

Jalisa Dumas, 27, of the 300 block of North Avers Avenue, Chicago, is accused of identity theft following a September 2019 investigation, and was arrested at 9:30 a.m. July 9 on a warrant at the DuPage County Jail.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL

  • Reginald Cooper, 52, of the 150,000 block of Woodlawn Drive, South Holland, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, not having a valid driver's license, improper lane usage, and was arrested at 4:26 p.m. July 9 in the 12000 block of Harlem Avenue following a traffic stop. He was released on a $3,000 bond and assigned a court date of Aug. 7.
  • Julius Cha, 21, of the 9300 block of Bay Colony Drive, Des Plaines, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, and was arrested at 9:01 a.m. July 10 in the 2900 block of Glenview Road after an investigation into a complaint of an unconscious motorist at that location. He was released on a $1,000 bond and given a court date of July 27.

DOMESTIC BATTERY

Jonathan Paredes, 29, of the 4600 block of Sayre Street, Harwood Heights, is accused of domestic battery, and was arrested at 2:40 a.m. July 10 in Glenview.

DRIVING WITHOUT A VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE

Alfredo Garcia, 47, of the 5600 block of West Montrose Avenue, Chicago, is accused of driving without a valid driver's license, operating a vehicle while using an electronic communication device, and was arrested at 7:58 p.m. July 10 following a traffic stop in the 1700 block of East Lake Avenue. He was released on a $2,500 bond and given a court date of Aug. 7.

IDENTITY THEFT

  • A resident in the 2100 block of Dauntless Drive reported at 7:15 p.m. July 7 someone used their credit card number to purchase merchandise. The reported loss is $1,800.
  • A resident in the 4600 block of Locust Lane called police at 5:57 p.m. July 9 to report someone filed an unemployment claim using their name. There is no reported loss.
  • A resident in the 600 block of Juniper Road reported at 2:24 p.m. July 11 someone used their personal information to open several credit accounts.

LOST/MISLAID PROPERTY

A patron in the 1900 block of Glenview Road called police at 11:09 p.m. July 7 to report someone stole a wallet from their unlocked vehicle parked in the parking lot. The reported loss is $20.

DECEPTIVE PRACTICE

A Grace Street resident reported at 10:28 a.m. July 8 listing merchandise for sale online. The seller received a check with an overpayment to be used to ship the item. After paying for shipping, the check was discovered as fraudulent. The reported loss is $1,500.

HARASSMENT BY ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATION

A Glenview Road resident called police at 3:43 p.m. July 8 to report receiving unwanted text messages.

RETAIL THEFT

  • An employee of business in the 900 block of Harlem Road reported at 10:03 p.m. July 8 someone entered the store, stuffed his pockets with little bottles of alcohol and candy and left without paying. The reported loss is $30.
  • An employee of a business in the 2700 block of Pfingsten Road called police at 10:59 a.m. July 9 to report someone loaded a cooler with bottles of alcohol, left the store without paying, entered a waiting cab and left the area. The cab was subsequently stopped and the passenger, a 48-year-old man from Evanston, was issued an ordinance violation ticket for theft. In total, $557.72 in merchandise was recovered.
  • An employee of a business in the 2500 block of Waukegan Road reported at 9:54 a.m. July 11 someone entered the store, loaded alcohol in a backpack and left the store without paying. The reported loss is $602.89.

BURGLARY

  • A guest in the 2300 block of Larkdale Drive called police at 10:54 p.m. July 8 to report someone entered their unlocked vehicle at 10:15 p.m., and rummaged through the center console and glove box. Nothing appeared missing. There is no reported loss.
  • A resident in the 600 block of Spruce Street reported at 8:40 a.m. July 9 someone entered an unlocked vehicle parked on the driveway and searched the interior. A pair of sunglasses was taken from inside. The reported loss is $15.
  • A patron in the 1500 block of Milwaukee Avenue called police at 11:32 a.m. July 12 to report someone entered their unlocked vehicle parked in the parking lot and took a purse from inside. The reported loss is $325.

THEFT

  • A resident in the 500 block of Elm Street reported at 3:21 a.m. July 9 someone stole an unlocked vehicle from the driveway. The keys were inside. The theft was discovered after a traffic stop on the car in Morton Grove in which the occupants fled the scene. There is no reported loss.
  • A resident in the 3400 block of Glenlake Drive called police at 5:02 a.m. July 10 to report someone went into the bed of a truck parked on the driveway during the overnight hours and stole tools from inside. The reported loss is $450.
  • A resident in the 2400 block of Bel Air Drive reported at 6:16 p.m. July 10 someone stole an unsecured bicycle from outside their home.
  • A resident in the 1900 block of Harlem Avenue called police at 10:04 p.m. July 13 to report someone stole an unsecured bicycle from the side of their house between 5-7 p.m. The reported loss is $150.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT

  • A resident in the 2700 block of Covert Road reported at 12:29 p.m. July 9 two men posing as employees of a gas company said they needed to enter the house to check a gas pipe. No entry was allowed and there is no reported loss.
  • A resident in the 3200 block of Milwaukee Avenue called police at 8:36 a.m. July 13 to report receiving a threat of harm.
  • A resident in the 2500 block of Fontana Drive reported at 8:55 p.m. July 13 someone yelled obscenities toward them.

BATTERY

A resident in the 600 block of Carriage Hill Drive called police at 5 p.m. July 12 to report being intentionally hit by a firework.

POSSESSION OF FICTITIOUS IDENTIFICATION

A 19-year-old Glenview man was issued an ordinance violation at 5:37 p.m. July 12 for possession of a fake/altered identification after his lost wallet containing an altered driver’s license was turned in.
