Male Caller Uses Woman's Phone For Kidnapping Claim: Glenview Police Blotter
The person called the woman's son and demanded ransom, according to police.

- Nishanth Asokan, 28, of the 3500 block of Lawrence Lane, Northbrook, is accused of driving under the influence, speeding 26 to 35 mph over the speed limit, improper lane usage, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, no insurance, and was arrested at 11:50 p.m. Jan. 28, following a traffic crash investigation. He was released and assigned a court date of March 12.
- Audriana Aranda, 25, of the 2900 block of Hartzell Street, Wilmette, is accused of DUI, blood alcohol concentration level of .08 or more, and was arrested at 9:13 p.m. Jan. 29, following a traffic investigation in the 1300 block of East Lake Avenue. She was released and assigned a court date of
LEAVING THE SCENE OF AN ACCIDENT
Bonilla Saul Valencia, 52, of the 1400 block of Plymouth Place, Glenview, is accused of leaving the scene of a property damage accident, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, failure to report an accident, and was arrested at 12:05 a.m. Jan. 30, at the Glenview Police Department. The arrest followed an investigation into a traffic crash on Jan. 25. He was released and assigned a court date of March 12.

FALSIFYING AN ACCIDENT REPORT
Presume Brunot, 40, of the 2300 block of Foster Street, Evanston, is accused of falsifying a motor vehicle accident report, reducing speed to avoid an accident, and was arrested at 1:03 p.m. Jan. 28, in the 5000 block of Dempster Street, Skokie. The charges stemmed from an investigation into a traffic crash on Dec. 10, 2025, in the 3500 block of Milwaukee Avenue. He was released and assigned a court date of March 27.

INCIDENTS
THEFT
- Employees of a business in the 1700 block of Waukegan Road reported at 12:31 p.m. Jan. 20, another employee had been stealing parts and money from the register. Total loss is $725.33.
- A Highland Park resident reported at 9:09 p.m. Jan. 20, leaving their belongings in a pushcart while loading a wheelchair into their vehicle in the 1700 block of Glenview Road. When they went to retrieve their bag, it was gone.
IDENTITY THEFT
A business in the 300 block of Waukegan Road reported at 9:24 a.m. Jan. 21, a customer had paid a $1,000 down payment and applied for a loan through a bank for $29,917, which was approved. They purchased a vehicle and left the property. The bank later advised the social security number did not belong to the customer and they discovered the driver’s license number was also fake. Complaints will be signed. The vehicle was entered into LEADS as stolen.
DISORDERLY CONDUCT
Employees for a business in the 1600 block of Waukegan Road called police at 1:07 p.m. Jan. 21, to report a customer had called the business several times, yelling at them because of a warranty complaint. Officers attempted to speak with the customer, but they refused to talk to officers.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE
Police responded to a business in the 1100 block of Waukegan Road at 10:25 a.m. Jan. 22, and found a shattered window. The total loss is $2,000.
TRESPASS WARNING
A person at a business in the 2200 block of Willow Road grabbed and pushed another person at 1:14 p.m. Jan. 23, after they were caught going through their belongings. A witness also saw this happen. Employees wanted the person to be given a trespass warning not to return. Officers located the person and gave them a trespass warning.
BATTERY
Police responded to the 600 block of Indian Road multiple times at 5:19 p.m. Jan. 25, for a neighbor dispute over snow being shoveled onto each other’s properties. One resident was issued a village ordinance citation for battery and disorderly conduct.
DISORDERLY CONDUCT
A Dewes Street resident reported at 5:48 p.m. Jan. 26, receiving phone calls from their mother's cellphone number. The male caller told them that he had kidnapped their mother and demanded ransom. Chicago police checked on their mother who was ok and not aware of any phone calls.
