Man Makes Shooting Threat At Business: Glenview Police Blotter

The victim told police the unknown man had asked him why he was looking in his direction prior to the gun threat.

A resident of the 700 block of Becker Road reported at 5:31 p.m. March 17, an unknown man was in the backyard taking photographs. They confronted the man, who advised they were inspecting the property. The resident asked him to leave and he complied. He is described as Black, 40 years old, 6 foot, average build, and was wearing athletic clothes.

RETAIL THEFT

Employees for a business in the 2200 block of Willow Road reported at 2:21 a.m. March 19, someone had paid for items at the self-checkout using tags from less expensive merchandise. The person was issued a village ordinance citation for retail theft and given a trespass warning not to return.

IDENTITY THEFT

A Winnetka Road resident reported at 7:55 a.m. March 20, receiving a letter from Centier Bank advising a change of address request and a letter from the Illinois Secretary of State saying their driver's license was going to be suspended for a failed court appearance. They discovered a vehicle registered to Secretary of State in their name that they do not own.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY

A business in the 1700 block of Waukegan Road reported at on March 21 that at around 7:30 a.m., a vehicle had been stuck in the grass area behind the business next to a dumpster. The owner believed the vehicle owner was going to dump trash in the dumpster. The vehicle was eventually able to get out of the grass and left the area. The vehicle damaged the grass area where it was stuck, approx. $2,500 in damage. It is also believed the dumpster may have been damaged by the person.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT

  • A complainant reported at 9:13 p.m. March 21, that while at a business in the 3500 block of Milwaukee Avenue, an unknown man asked him why he was looking in his direction. He then told the victim he had a gun and would shoot him. The man continued to make threats until the victim called the police. The suspect had left the area before police arrival.
  • A resident of the 3100 block of Mary Kay Lane reported at 8:50 a.m. March 23, her house and car had been egged by someone overnight.

BATTERY

A Door Dash driver reported at 10:41 p.m. March 21, a resident in the 4500 block of Lilac Avenue had approached him in the 4600 block of Lilac Avenue, yelling at him to slow down. The driver
brandished a small pocketknife and told him to leave him alone. The resident then tried to kick
the driver however he just brushed his leg.

BURGLARY FROM VEHICLE

A resident of Berkeley reported on March 23 that five days earlier, she had shopped at a business in the 2200 block of Willow Road and someone had entered her vehicle and stole an Amazon tablet from her vehicle.
