GLENVIEW, IL — The following information comes from the Glenview Police Department and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state and are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Every person arrested is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

INCIDENTS

RUDE CUSTOMER
An employee of an unspecified business in the 4500 block of West Lake Avenue reported around 10:45 p.m. on Feb. 21 that a patron had become upset and rude when staff were unable to locate a reservation.

SUSPICIOUS UBER?
Around 1:30 a.m. on Feb. 22, police noticed a male driver parked in the 800 block of Raleigh Road with his lights off. He told police he was an Uber driver and was waiting for a passenger, but police reported he appeared nervous and was unable to produce any paperwork or point to any decals indicating that he worked as a driver for a ride-hailing company.

BATTERY
A customer at an unspecified business in the 2600 block of Navy Boulevard grasped the hand of an employee and kissed it shortly before 6:45 p.m. on Feb. 29, police were told.

HOME BURGLARY
Someone broke into a home in the 3100 block of Glenway Drive by forcing open a door and stole jewelry from inside at some point prior to 6:30 p.m. Feb. 28, causing a reported loss of more than $4,000.

MAIL THEFT
A resident in the 2200 block of Timothy Drive reported someone stole an envelope containing a check mailed through the United State's Postal Service for a reported loss of more than $3,200.

UNWANTED PERSON
Someone was loitering in the parking lot of a business in the 4500 block of West Lake Avenue and peering into parked cars, an employee of a nearby business told police shortly before 8:30 p.m. on March 3.

ARSONS

  • Around 8:30 p.m. on Feb. 21, a passerby reported a garbage can was on fire in Swenson Park, 901 Shermer Road. The reported damage was $30. Police reported two male juveniles were seen running from the area.
  • Someone set fire to a recycling canister on the tennis court at Roosevelt Park, 2200 Grove St. The surface of the tennis court was also damaged. The estimated cost of repairs was more than $7,500.

SHOPLIFTING

  • An employee of an unspecified business in the 1900 block of Tower Road reported shortly before 5 p.m. on Feb. 18 that two women had stolen armsful of Adidas clothing worth $700.
  • Someone stole earrings worth $15 from a display in an undisclosed store in the 1700 block of Glenview Road.

TRESPASSING

  • A resident in the 3700 block of Vantage Lane reported they had been alerted by a doorbell camera that someone was in their backyard around 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 19.
  • A caretaker reported around 6 p.m. on March 3 that two people were on a property in the 1300 block of Meadow Lane without permission.

FORGERY

  • Someone forged and cashed four checks worth $6,000, causing an overdraft on the account of a Huber Lane resident, police were told shortly before noon on Feb. 28.
  • Someone tried to buy lottery tickets from a business in the 9700 block of Milwaukee Avenue using a fraudulent $100 bill.
  • A Sanford Lane resident reported around 4:15 p.m. on March 1 that $1,300 had been stolen after they got a call from someone purporting to represent their bank and asking for account information.

WALLET THEFTS

  • Someone stole a wallet and a car key from a jacket hanging on a coat rack at a business in the 1100 block of Milwaukee Avenue. Credit cards in the wallet were later used. The total reported loss was more than $1,000.
  • A shopper in the 1400 block of Waukegan Road reported around 4:45 p.m. on March 9 that someone stole their wallet from inside a purse that had been sitting on a shopping cart for a reported loss of $380.

IDENTITY THEFTS

  • A Pebblecreek Drive resident reported around 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 21 that someone had made two fraudulent charges using their credit card number at a jeweler in Milwaukee. The first purchase was for $2,500, and the second was for $25,000.
  • A Sequoia Trail resident reported around 1:30 p.m. on Feb. 22 that someone had fraudulently applied for and received unemployment benefits issued by a former company for a reported loss of $1,413.
  • A Pynsky Road resident reported around 12:30 p.m. on Feb. 28 that they had received a $5,300 collections bill for a telephone account they had not opened.
  • A Raleigh Road resident reported around noon on March 5 that they had gotten a text message that appeared to come from their bank suggesting that the credit card they requested had been mailed. The resident told police they never ordered a new card.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT

  • An employee at an unspecified business in the 1400 block of Waukegan Road reported around 9:15 p.m. on Feb. 28 that someone had walked into the store, walked around a counter in the employee area and unsuccessfully tried to access the register.
  • A resident in the 2300 block of Strawberry Lane called police to report around 10:30 a.m. on Feb. 29 that their neighbor made a rude comment.
  • A resident in the 1300 block of Pleasant Lane reported around 1 p.m. on Feb. 27 that someone had driven a car through their front yard. There was no apparent damage.
  • An employee of a business in the 1800 block of Waukegan Road that does not use delivery vehicles reported around 8:30 a.m. on March 4 that someone called and claimed they were going to kill a person in a van.
  • Amtrak police reported around 8:30 p.m. on March 5 that they received a report that a man on one of their trains had a gun and made a threatening statement.
  • An employee in the 3300 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported around 12:45 a.m. on March 6 that they had learned of a statement threatening to hard people at the business.

HARASSMENT

  • An employee of an unspecified business in the 1200 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported receiving unwanted telephone calls around 7:15 p.m. on Feb. 21.
  • A Spring Road resident reported getting unwanted calls around 6 p.m. on Feb. 23.
  • A Springdale Avenue resident reported around 3:30 p.m. on Feb. 26 that someone was calling their phone and leaving threats regarding a payment for a service.
  • An employee of an unspecified business in the 1200 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported a threatening call from someone cursing on the telephone around 3:45 p.m. on Feb. 27.
  • A Chestnut Avenue resident called reported around 12:30 a.m. on March 5 that someone posted false personal information about them online.
  • An employee in the 700 block of West Harlem Avenue reported around 10:30 a.m. on March 9 that they had gotten unwanted emails.

CAR BURGLARIES

  • Someone got into an unlocked car in the 700 block of Wagner Road during the overnight hours of Feb. 24 to Feb. 25 and stole two pairs of sunglasses for a loss of $400.
  • Someone broke a car window and stole a purse from inside a car parked in the 4100 block of West Lake Avenue between 5:50 and 9 p.m. on March 4 for a loss of $350.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE

  • An employee of an unspecified business in the 1900 block of Willow Road reported about 12:15 p.m. on Feb. 21 that someone had done $1,300 worth of damage to the sign and speaker at the businesses drive-thru window sometime in February.
  • A resident in the 2400 block of Waukegan Road reported shortly before 9 a.m. on Feb. 21 that someone had made several long, deep scratches along the rear passenger side of their car, causing an estimated $200 in damage.
  • Someone shot a BB round through the front window of a home in the 3800 block of Joanne Drive on the night of Feb. 22, causing $1,000 in damage.
  • A resident in the 1900 block of Larkdale Drive reported around 3 p.m. on Feb. 23 that someone had broken the rear window of the car between 11 pm. on Feb. 22 and 3 p.m. on Feb. 23 , causing $500 in damage. A short time later, the passenger side window of another car parked in the same block was found shattered, with the cost of repair estimated at $300.
  • Someone "keyed" a car parked in the commuter lot in the 900 block of Railroad Avenue between 7:40 a.m. and 5:10 p.m. on Feb. 24, causing $2,000 in damage.
  • A commuter in the 900 block of Railroad Avenue reported around 9:30 a.m. on Feb. 27 that someone had scratched the paint on their car for a loss of $250.
  • Someone damaged a car window of a guest in the 1000 block of Longmeadow Drive during the overnight hours of March 1 to March 2, causing $200 damage.
  • A resident in the 1000 block of Meadowlark Lane reported someone damaged the rear window of their car while it was parked in the driveway during the overnight hours of March 1 to March 2, causing $400 in damage.
  • A resident in the 2000 block of Henley Street reported someone damaged the rear driver's side window of their parked car some time on March 1 or March 2, causing $300 in damage.
  • Someone damaged a mailbox in the parkway in the 4500 block of Concord Lane at some point prior to 7:30 p.m. March 4, for a loss of $5,000.
  • Someone cracked the front windshield and scratched the paint off a vehicle parked in their driveway between 8:20 and 11:37 p.m. in the 400 block of Ferndale Road for a loss of $1,000.

ARRESTS/CITATIONS

Two 18-year-old Glenview women were issued local ordinance violation tickets for theft after stealing $224 worth of clothing from an unspecified business in the 2200 block of Willow Road shortly after 4 p.m. on Feb. 21. Police found the pair a short distance away and recovered the stolen merchandise.

A 15-year-old Northbrook girl was issued a local ordinance theft citation after an employee in the 2200 block of Willow Report reported she had stolen $55 worth of clothing shortly before 8:45 p.m. on Feb. 21.

Denzel Irons, 23, of the 1100 block of West Vermont Avenue, Calumet Park, was arrested on the morning of Feb. 25 at the Skokie Courthouse and charged with burglary in connection with an investigation into an Oct. 19, 2019, overnight break-in at the AT&T store, 3750 Willow Road.

Eloy Lozano-Baez, 28, of the 500 block of 5th Street, Northfield, was arrested around 3:45 a.m. on Feb. 28 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol with a breath alcohol concentration of 0.08 or greater and driving without a valid driver's license following a traffic stop in the 2400 block of Waukegan Road. He was also issued citations for speeding 15 to 20 mph above the limit and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

Moshe Nudelman, 22, of the 8600 block of Hamlin Avenue, Skokie, was arrested around 12:15 p.m. on March 2 in the 2600 block of West Fulton Street, Chicago, and charged with unlawful possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, identity theft and theft of between $500 and $10,000 worth of property in connection with an investigation into an incident in the 3100 block of Valcour Drive on Jan 18.

Marek Modrzanski, 57, of the 700 block of West Melrose Street, Chicago, was arrested around 9:30 a.m. on March 3 in the 1500 block of Waukegan Road on an arrest warrant issued by South Barrington police in connection with a charge of retail theft.

Danielle Honaker, 23, of the 3800 block of Glenview Road, Glenview, was arrested at the Skokie Courthouse and charged with retail theft in connection with an investigation into a Nov. 27, 2019, incident in the 100 block of Waukegan Road.

A 35-year-old Wilmette man was arrested around 7:15 p.m. on March 3 and charged with driving without a valid license following a traffic stop in the 700 block of Milwaukee Avenue. He was also issued a driving without lights when required citation.

Michele Merola, 44, of the 700 block of Greenview Road, Itasca, was arrested around 1:15 p.m. on March 7 in the 4000 block of West Lake Avenue and charged with battery.

Raul Flores, 33, of the 9900 block of Linda Lane, Des Plaines, was arrested around 7:45 p.m. on March 7 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after he was involved in a traffic crash in the 2400 block of Sanders Road. No further information on the crash was immediately available from police.

A 32-year-old Chicago man was arrested around 12:15 a.m. on March 9 and charged with driving with a suspended license following a traffic stop in the 1700 block of East Lake Avenue. He was also issued citations for operating an uninsured motor vehicle and speeding 15 to 20 mph above the limit.

Ashley Turner, 32, of the 13200 block of South Indiana Avenue, Chicago, was arrested around 12:45 a.m. on March 9 and charged with obstructing a police officer following a traffic stop in the 1700 block of East Lake Avenue. Police reported she was ordered to exit a vehicle but refused and physically resisted.

A 59-year-old Berwyn woman was arrested around 3:15 a.m. on March 9 and charged with driving with a suspended license following a traffic stop in the 3700 block of Willow Road. She was also issued citations for improper lighting, possession of a suspended driver's license and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
