In case you haven’t heard, a knitted sweater is no longer considered a fashionable gift these days. According to the production staff of Terra Sounds, a School of Music & Arts based in vigorously developing downtown Glenview, a passionate songwriter lives in everyone, especially for the holidays. TerraSongwriters, the school’s new creative venture enables anyone to create a custom song of your own with a team of professional music producers.
“We are excited to bring together a team of Chicago’s talented composers, lyricists, instrumentalists, and vocalists,” says Matvey Kostukovsky, Director of Audio Production and Co-founder of Terra Sounds School of Music and Arts.

“We are very lucky to live in a city with so many gifted professionals and such a diverse music culture.”
For those of us who last sang or played a musical instrument at their kindergarten recital, not to worry – TerraSongwriters actually let you choose your own level of participation, from naming the occasion and the music style to writing your own lyrics, singing, or featuring your own bagpipes solo on the tune.

With three tiers of custom songs ranging from $99 to $499, anyone can now create a once-in-a-lifetime memory for friends and family.
TerraSongwriters program is on track to get a test-drive in early 2015 via a partnership with Arthur Murray Dance Center in Lincolnshire, one of NorthShore’s premiere dance studios. Long-time dance enthusiasts and recent students of the studio will get a unique opportunity to put together and perform a choreographed dance routine with their dance instructors to a custom song they helped create, be it Salsa, Swing, or Tango.
“We’re so excited about the “Dance to Your Own Tune” project with Terra Sounds, it gives people a new and unique way to express themselves through a combination of music and dance! “ says Bryan Stewart, owner of the Lincolnshire Arthur Murray Studio. “We believe that everyone has music, art, and creativity in their soul, and teaching people to dance is our way of unlocking those passions.”
