Congressman Grants $1M+ To Highland Park Water Treatment Plant
The more than $1 million check will support infrastructure upgrades at Highland Park's state-of-the-art water treatment plant.

HIGHLAND PARK, IL —Congressman Brad Schneider gave Highland Park more than $1 million in federal funding to support infrastructure upgrades at the city's water treatment plant.
Highland Park's state-of-the-art water treatment plant is located at the east end of Park Avenue on Lake Michigan and produces about 30 million gallons of drinking water per day. The plant was originally built in 1927, according to the city, and has gotten several upgrades and expansions since then.
Now, the city's plant contractually provides water to the municipalities of Deerfield, Lincolnshire and Bannockburn. It also has capacity to provide water on an emergency basis to Northbrook, Highwood, Lake Forest and Glencoe.
