Arrests Over Beating, DUI, Warrant: Highland Park Crime Reports

Highland Park Police Blotter: May 1 - May 7

HIGHLAND PARK, IL — The following information comes from the Highland Park Police Department as a record of incidents reported to the police and of those arrested by police. Readers are reminded than an arrest is not an indication of guilt, and criminal charges, which are often dropped or reduced, represent merely accusations by the state. All persons named are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.

INCIDENTS

THEFT
A homeowner in the 1300 block of Hilary Lane reported at 3:44 p.m. on May 1 that an undisclosed amount of jewelry was discovered to be missing after workers carried out renovations on the home over the past several months.

THEFT
A patron of a business in the 1800 block of Sheridan Road reported at 4:25 p.m. on May 4 that a valuable wedding ring had been taken during an appointment at the establishment.

THEFT
Someone stole several items of value from a patron at the poolside area of a business in the 100 block of Skokie Valley Road on May 6.

ARRESTS/CITATIONS

Tyrone Harrell, Jr., 30, of the 900 block of Lorraine Avenue in Waukegan, was arrested at 2:37 a.m. on May 1 after he was pulled over for speeding in the 2000 block of Skokie Valley Road and determined to have a suspended license and an active probation violation warrant from Wisconsin. According to police and court records, he pleaded guilty to possessing 163 grams of marijuana in exchange for police dropping gun charges in connection with an October 2017 arrest.

Diamonte Jeans, 23, of the 600 block of South Kansas Avenue in Wichita, Kansas was arrested at 11:34 p.m. on May 1 and charged with felony domestic battery, unlawful restraint and battery.

Terry Lerch, 43, of the 6800 block of North Lavergne in Skokie, was arrested at 1:29 a.m. on May 5 and charged with aggravated driving under the influence and driving under the influence following a traffic stop at the intersection of Central Avenue and Green Bay Road. Police pulled him over for no taillights and determined he was intoxicated.
