Man Created Fake Companies To Send Him Checks: Police
Highland Park resident allegedly conned $63,000 out of a Deerfield bank.

A Highland Park man is accused of writing and depositing checks to himself from fictitious companies in order to con some $63,000 out of a Deerfield bank.
The Deerfield Review reports Neil I. Ornoff, 48, of the 2000 block of North St. Johns Avenue is facing charges including deceptive practice from an investigation that began October 2 when the bank noticed three suspicious checks had been deposited from an account holder and that $63,000 had been withdrawn.
“He had bogus companies give him a check,” according to Deerfield Police Sgt. Juan Mazariegos.
