Police Call Off Alert Over Strong-Arm Robbery in Park
An investigation didn't back up claims in report, Highland Park police say.
HIGHLAND PARK, IL—Police canceled an alert and an ongoing investigation concerning a strong-arm robbery at Sunset Woods Park reported last week, according to a city release Saturday.

"[W]itness statements and evidence no longer support the complainant's report," the release stated.

On Friday, June 3, a man told Highland Park police that he was at the park, 1801 Sunset Road, at noon when he was pushed to the ground from behind by an unknown assailant who then took the victim's wallet. The assailant then escaped on foot.
Police sent a citywide alert concerning the report Friday, asking residents for help.
