A 15-year-old juvenile of unincorporated Clarendon Hills has been charged with one count of possession of ammunition, related to the March 20 “shelter-in-place” directive at Hinsdale Central High School, according to Hinsdale police.
Possession of ammunition is a misdemeanor charge, and the juvenile will be petitioned through the juvenile court system.
The juvenile had an unexpended shotgun shell, police reported, which sparked the Hinsdale Central High School “shelter-in-place” incident.
The piece of live ammunition was found abandoned in the cafeteria of the school, according to a March 20 news release.
