Wave Of Unlocked Suburban Car Burglaries Continues: Police

Cops say a recently arrested suspect remarked when looking at images of a scar-faced car burglar: "Bro has a car. Never seen him before."

HINSDALE, IL -- A man with a scar on his face is the most recent image to be captured on home surveillance video in what is being described as a “Chicago Pattern” of overnight car burglaries, according to information shared by Hinsdale police.

Burglaries to mostly unlocked vehicles are rampant throughout the south suburbs. Unlocked vehicle break-ins have been reported in Frankfort, Tinley Park, Orland Park, Lemont, Midlothian, Worth and Crestwood.

Images from a residential security camera show a man with what appears to be a distinct scar on his face, police said. Several residential security cameras captured three men moving through a residential neighborhood near I-55 and County Line Road in Hinsdale. The information shared by suburban police agencies did not indicate a date in which the purported car burglaries occurred.
