Burglar Ransacks Unlocked Car In Worth: Video

"It's the honestly the one time I didn't lock my door because I was distracted," Worth resident says after finding her car ransacked.

WORTH, IL -- A Worth resident found her car ransacked April 5 when she went to take her children to school. According to the resident, who posted a home security of the crime on Village of Worth Neighborhood Watch Facebook page, the burglary happened at about 3:52 a.m. Unlocked vehicle burglaries have been on the rise across the south suburbs.

“It’s the honestly the one time I didn’t lock my door because I was distracted,” said the resident, who lives in an apartment complex near Southwest Highway and 76th Street. “It happened to my neighbor as well and that’s why there are cameras now in our lot.”

She said Worth police were “super helpful.” A police officer followed the perp’s footprints in the snow all the way across Harlem Avenue.
