Homer Glen Voters Guide: April 4 Consolidated Election

HOMER GLEN, IL —There are only a few days left of early voting in Homer Glen, and the consolidated election will be held Tuesday. The election includes races for village board, school boards, library boards, fire protection districts and park district boards.

Here's a look at what Homer Glen residents will see on their ballots:

For those who live within the Village of Homer Glen boundaries, there are races for Mayor, Village Trustee and Village Clerk.

Mayoral candidates are:

• Christina Neitzke-Troike
• Rose "Rosie" Reynders

There are two candidates running for the position of Village Clerk:

• Candice Bielski
• Yvonne Chentnik

There are six candidates running for three Village Trustee positions. Candidates are:

• James "Jay" Roti
• Susanna Steilen

Homer Township Public Library serves Homer Glen, and there are eight candidates running for four Trustee positions. Candidates are:

Homer Glen students attend Lockport Township High School. There are eight candidates running for three positions on the Board of Education. Candidates are:

Voters who live in the Village of Homer Glen will also see two referenda on their ballots. One question will ask residents about installing and using license plate readers at public access roads in Homer Glen.

The exact question reads: "Shall the Village of Homer Glen install and use license plate readers at public access roads designated by the Village Board to support public safety agencies provided the data collected is confidential and is destroyed within 30 days unless it is the subject matter of an ongoing investigation?"

The second question will ask voters about exploring a feasibility study to maintain a part-time police department for Homer Glen.

The exact question reads: "Shall the Village Board pursue exploring a feasibility study to create and maintain a part-time police department within the Village of Homer?"
