Many thanks to Girl Scout Troop 1230 for collecting more than 70 backpacks during the month of April - Autism Awareness Month. Together with the community, the troop collected backpacks to be used by Alexander Leigh Center for Autism (ALCA) students and staff. ALCA teacher Nicole McCarthy (far left) accepted the backpacks April 27 during an Open House hosted by the Crystal Lake school. The troop toured the school after making their generous donation.
