A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for counties throughout the Chicago suburbs through 11 p.m. Tuesday.
The counties under the severe thunderstorm watch include: McHenry, Lake, Will, DuPage, Cook, Kane and Kendall counties, according to the National Weather Service.
Weather hazards could include thunderstorms — some severe; isolated flash flooding; damaging winds; golf-ball-sized hail; and "an outside chance of a tornado," according to the NWS.
