Fatal Crest Hill Shooting Leads To 1 Charge
The victim died at Joliet's Amita Health Saint Joseph Medical Center on Friday night.
CREST HILL, IL — On Friday night, police say, several acquaintances gathered inside an industrial business on North Raynor Avenue, drinking alcohol and conversing. At one point, a 42-year-old man from Boca Raton, Florida, went and retrieved a gun from elsewhere in the building, and then he shot 31-year-old Donatas Bruzga in the upper chest, authorities say.
On Tuesday, the Will County State's Attorney's Office of James Glasgow filed a single criminal charge of involuntary manslaughter against Marius Januzis.
The criminal complaint states that on Friday, Dec. 13, Januzis was acting in a reckless manner when "he shot Donatas Bruzga while handling the loaded 9mm handgun in an occupied room, thereby causing the death of Donatas Bruzga."
