David Towner Arrested At Another Joliet Auto Dealership

The 62-year-old man, who tells Joliet police he is homeless, has been arrested three different times in the past two weeks.

JOLIET, IL - For the second time in the past few days, David Towner was arrested after being found inside a vehicle at a Joliet auto dealership. His latest arrest occurred over the weekend at one of the businesses on Essington Road. Towner, who told Joliet officers he is homeless, was charged with two misdemeanor crimes, theft and criminal damage to property. Jail logs show that Towner was booked in the Will County jail around 8 p.m. Saturday and released on his own recognizance around 1:45 a.m. Sunday.

On Saturday night, officers found Towner inside a silver Volkswagen Beetle at the business on Essington Road. According to police, Towner had taken off his shoes and was laying across the backseat. At the time of his arrest, police said, there was no damage to the vehicle.

Last week, Towner was cited by Joliet police after being found inside another vehicle at a dealership on Jefferson Street. The previous week, he was cited at the Will County Courthouse after police say Towner began destroying several flower pots from around the downtown courthouse.
