Domestic Violence On Campbell Street In Joliet: Police

JOLIET, IL — Joliet police officers arrested Angel Vargas on Tuesday night in connection with a domestic disturbance at the Vargas house in the 500 block of Campbell Street. Joliet Patch has written several articles over the years about Vargas and his brother Johnny Hernandez being arrested in connection with felony crimes.

The 22-year-old is now in the Will County Jail with a $1,500 bail for battery charges.

Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English said the following events led to Tuesday night's arrest on Campbell:

At 10:47 p.m. officers were sent to the house in the 500 block of Campbell Street for a domestic disturbance. While Vargas and a young woman were inside a vehicle driving to the residence, an argument took place and Vargas elbowed the victim multiple times in the face.

Vargas was driving the vehicle and the victim was in the front passenger seat. Vargas was placed into custody without incident.
