Eight Men In--Cops Collar 8th Man For Wild Barroom Brawl Shooting

An eighth man was captured in connection with the shocking gun attack but the alleged triggerman remains at large.

An eighth man wanted in connection with an east side barroom shooting that left a teen clinging to life was captured Monday night.

Marcus Alexander, 30, was booked into the Will County jail about 10 p.m. on charges of aggravated battery and mob action.

Alexander joined six other men locked up in the wake of a wild brawl and shooting at Los Diaz bar on Meeker Avenue Sunday night. One other man, 35-year-old Serafin Castellanos of Oswego, had already posted $250,000 for his release from jail.

The melee at Los Diaz was touched off when 13 members of one gang strode into the bar and confronted four other men from another gang, police said. During the free-for-all, 26-year-old Anthony Luna of Aurora opened fire, police said.

Somehow, police said, Luna only managed to hit a 19-year-old from Joliet, putting bullets in his head, chest and shoulder. The teen was taken to Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox with what police called “very life-threatening” wounds. Despite his dire condition, the teen was reportedly still alive Tuesday morning.
