Joliet Teen Clings to Life After Taking Bullets to Head and Body During Wild East Side Bar Brawl: Cops
Two street gangs squared off at the Meeker Avenue tavern, police said.
A Joliet teen was clinging to life Monday after taking bullets to his head, chest, shoulder and belly during a wild brawl in an east side bar the night before, police said.
The unidentified 19-year-old was taken from Los Diaz bar on Meeker Avenue to Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox. His wounds are “very life-threatening,” said Joliet Deputy Chief Ed Gregory.
Thirteen men strode into Los Diaz and headed to the beer garden in back where they confronted four other men, police said. During the ensuing fight, one man—Anthony Luna, 26, of Aurora, allegedly opened fire.
