Fire Near Ridge Road Destroys Joliet House, 2 Vehicles

Six of Joliet's fire stations responded to Tuesday afternoon's major house fire.

JOLIET, IL — A two-story house off Ridge Road on Joliet's far west side and two of the vehicles were destroyed in Tuesday afternoon's devastating fire that prompted firefighters from six different stations to respond.

The firefighters came from Stations 1, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10.

Crews from the Joliet Fire Department responded to the fire involving an attached garage in the 1100 block of Hummingbird Circle. The first crew of Joliet firefighters made it to the blaze in three minutes and they saw heavy fire coming from the garage and running up the front of the house.

Crews initially attacked the fire with the deck gun, and then entered the house with hand lines to attack the fire from inside.

Crews were on the scene for about an hour and no injuries were reported.
