JOLIET, IL — Two different houses near Henderson Avenue were raided Tuesday morning by Joliet police, prompting a soft lockdown at nearby Sator Sanchez Elementary School. Sources told Joliet Patch that one of the raided properties — 701 Francis St., was where 47-year-old Joliet murder victim Floyd Faint Sr. was slain in his driveway on April 28, 2020.

However, Tuesday's Joliet police raid on Francis Street and at another house in the 600 block of Norton Avenue, were not in connection with Floyd Faint Sr's unsolved homicide. Instead, both raids were carried out in connection with Sunday's noon hour drive-by killing of Faint's relative, Jeffery Faint, age 27, sources said.

Jeffrey Faint was Sunday's latest Joliet homicide victim, and he was shot while driving a sport utility vehicle on the city's east side. The 27-year-old gunshot victim crashed near Henderson Avenue and Columbia Street, and the drive-by shooter got away.

Several Joliet houses were also sprayed with bullets during Sunday's daytime killing.

Back in 2016, the Shaw Local News Network reported that Jeffery Faint, then 20, was shot in the 1500 block of Fairmont Avenue, where he was found on the sidewalk after suffering five gunshot wounds, two to his back and three to his left arm.

Even though more than 56 hours have passed since Sunday's noon-hour killing, Will County Coroner Laurie Summers has refused to release information about Faint's homicide on her agency's Facebook page.

Summers finally got around to publishing Faint's homicide after 4 p.m. on Wednesday.

Sources told Joliet Patch that the suspected drive-by vehicle involved in Jeffrey Faint's killing from Sunday has been impounded by the Joliet Police Department.

Tuesday's raids began at 9 a.m. and were carried out by Joliet police's Special Operation Squad, Crisis Negotiation Team and Investigations Division.

"Out of an abundance of caution, nearby Sator Sanchez Elementary School was recommended to be placed on a soft lockdown while Joliet Police Department personnel executed the search warrant at the Francis Street address," police spokesman Dwayne English said. "This soft lockdown has since been lifted and both scenes have been cleared.

"To maintain the integrity of this investigation, no further information will be released at this time," English said.
