Barbara Jean Emmett

(nee Kaehler)

Age 77, of Plainfield, IL and formerly Frankfort, IL passed peacefully at home, Friday, November 12, 2021.

Barbara was born November 28, 1943 in Evergreen Park, IL to the late Vera and George Kaehler.

Survived by her daughters, Christine (Phil) Vimarco, Karen Emmett and Colleen (Chuck) Eartly; grandchildren, Kerry (Joel) Stephens, Janell Gardner (Jeremy); Stephan Todd Drake, Jillian Leah Garza (Christian); Alaina and Emily Eartly; great-grandchildren, Abby, Greyson, Ethan, Jersi, Landen and Wyatt. One sister, Shirley (late Ed) Mercier also survives, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her beloved husband of 57 years, Theodore Emmett, Jr. and her parents.

Barbara, a very social woman, enjoyed playing cards with her bunco and euchre groups as well as playing games at the senior center with her friends. She will be remembered fondly by her family as a very warm and welcoming soul.

A Memorial Service for Barbara Jean Emmett will be held on Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.) Joliet. The family will receive all relatives and friends from 10:30 a.m. until the service begins at 1:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers memorials in Barbara’s name can be made to the American Heart Association.
