Reckless Driver Who Killed Joliet Teacher In 2018 Crash Gets Arrested For Aggravated DUI: Police (patch.com) — People driving Joliet's busy West Jefferson corridor may be alarmed to learn that police recently arrested 42-year-old Demetrius Greene, whose past reckless driving killed a beloved District 86 substitute teacher, on new aggravated DUI charges. Officers say they stopped Greene after reports of erratic driving, observed signs of alcohol impairment, and cited him for multiple traffic violations before releasing him on a notice to appear.

More Trouble At St. Joe's Hospital As Patient Attacks Female Employee, Second Worker Intervenes: JPD (patch.com) — Joliet readers should know that police say a patient at Ascension Saint Joseph Medical Center allegedly attacked a female staff member and threatened another worker late Wednesday night. After being discharged, the 64-year-old New Lenox man was arrested by Joliet police, charged with aggravated battery and aggravated assault, and released on a notice to appear in court.

Joliet West Senior Was Surprised By Air Force Father's Return At JTHS Board Of Education Meeting (wjol.com) — A Joliet West High School senior was stunned when his Air Force father, deployed since March, walked out to surprise him during a Joliet Township High School Board of Education meeting honoring the student's academic achievement. School leaders and family secretly coordinated the emotional reunion, which continued with another surprise visit the next day at Eisenhower Academy in Joliet.
