Sunny Hill: Coronavirus Deaths On Rise At Joliet Home
The Sunny Hill Nursing Home's number of deaths from the new coronavirus more than doubled during the past week's reporting.

JOLIET, IL — Joliet's Sunny Hill Nursing Home on Doris Avenue has become the city's latest trouble spot for the new coronavirus. State public health officials are now reporting 11 deaths at Sunny Hill from the coronavirus and a total of 40 cases.
On May 3, Sunny Hill Nursing Home reported 24 cases and five deaths. During the last week of April, Sunny Hill reported 17 cases and two deaths.

Meanwhile, the Symphony of Joliet nursing care center on Larkin Avenue reported no new cases and no additional coronavirus deaths during the past week.
State data still lists Symphony as having 127 cases and 24 deaths.

Presence Villa Franciscan nursing home now reports 58 cases and 12 deaths. A week earlier, Villa Franciscan reported 59 cases and 13 deaths, meaning one of its deaths has been reclassified.
PARC of Joliet on North Hammes Avenue now reports 49 cases and nine deaths. A week earlier, PARC reported 33 coronavirus cases and seven deaths.
Spring Creek Nursing Home on Joliet's Draper Avenue is reporting its first coronavirus death at its nursing home on Joliet's east side.
Spring Creek now reports seven cases and one death. A week earlier, Spring Creek reported its first three coronavirus cases.
None of the coronavirus totals increased during the past week for Joliet Terrace, Rock Run Place and the Salem Village Nursing Home on Rowell Avenue.
Joliet Terrace on McDonough Street continues to report three coronavirus cases. Rock Run Place is still reporting four cases and Salem Village still has two cases.
In related Will County coronavirus news, the county's health department reported no additional deaths on Sunday, and the number of coronavirus cases increased by 41 to 3,696.
On Saturday, the health department reported two additional deaths, a woman in her 60s and a man in his 70s, plus 63 new cases.
Will County has had 202 deaths from the new coronavirus since March, county data shows.
