Man Missing From Joliet's Tent City Homeless Camp Has Been Found Safe: Wilmington Police Announce
The Wilmington Police Department said Caleb Hanson was reported missing to their police department on Christmas Eve.

JOLIET, IL — The Wilmington Police Department announced on Thursday afternoon that a Wilmington man reported missing to their police agency more than two weeks ago "has been located and is safe." The positive announcement came around 1:30 p.m.
"Thank you to all who contacted us with information and shared our post. We appreciate the cooperation of everyone we spoke with through the course of this investigation, and are grateful to be able to share good news as a result," the agency posted on Facebook.
His last known whereabouts, Wilmington police noted, were in the city of Joliet, at the east side Tent City homeless encampment underneath the Cass Street viaduct bridge, which is near the Canadian National railroad yard. Joliet Patch has written several stories about the Tent City over the years.

A review of the Will County Jail logs indicates that Hanson, 37, spent two days in the Will County Jail on Nov. 19-20 after Braidwood arrested him in connection with several crimes from mid-August involving aggravated battery against a police officer, resisting arrest, domestic battery and obstructing identification. Joliet police originally booked Hanson into the Will County Jail for those incidents back on Aug. 19.
Joliet Patch wrote a crime story about Hanson's original arrest by the Joliet Police Department back in August at the Motel 6 on McDonough Street. The story was headlined, "Joliet Police Storm Motel 6 Room After 'Threatening Behavior' From Wilmington Man: English."
