4 Men Arrested in Prostitution Sting by Lake Co. Sheriff's Task Force

The arrests were part of a national operation to crackdown on prostitution.

Four men were arrested by the Lake County Sheriff's Gang Task Force as part of a national prostitution crackdown, according to the county agency.

The sting operation—called the National Johns Suppression Initiative—ran July 12 and Aug. 4, in Lake County. The task force used an online classified ad website to lure "johns" to a location for sex. The men then were arrested when they offered money for sex to undercover detectives.

The Cook County Sheriff's Office coordinated the 18-state national coalition of 38 law enforcement agencies involved in the operation, which arrested 1,358 accused sex buyers and 71 alleged sex traffickers, according to a sheriff's office statement. The initiative also "recovered 32 underage girls lured into human trafficking," the statement added.
