Bubble Buddies, A LFHS Invention, Seeks to Motivate Kids To Wash Hands

Latest presentation as part of school's "Innovation Incubator" class is one parents should embrace.

Some Lake Forest High School Incubation Innovator students have created Bubble Buddies, what creators are calling “the latest trend” for young children when it comes to washing their hands.

“Our advanced color changing technology, along with the enticing kid-friendly shapes creates the perfect recipe to motivate children to wash their hands properly,” according to a news release on the business sent by team members Alec Schachter, Anna Grace Passalino, Jacqueline Turck and Akira Sanders. “Our goal is to make hand washing fun and effective for kids.”

Bubble Buddies allows a child to choose from different figurines such as animals, shapes, flowers and other fun designs. They simply rub the chosen character/shape between their hands under warm water.

“After about 20 seconds the figurine changes colors and the character begins to dissolve, leaving behind soap bubbles, thus indicating it is time to rinse your hands,” according to the release. “The child has fun playing with Bubble Buddies and is unknowingly enticed to wash their hands for the proper length of time.”
