Woman Arrested for Kicking a Cop, Then Hits Another After She's Released

Recent arrest reports from the Lake Forest Police Department.

The following information is from the Lake Forest Police Department. An arrest is not an indication of guilt.

BATTERY AND PROPERTY DAMAGE

James D. Barton, of the 1400 block of Ferndale Avenue, Highland Park, and Mark C. Husbands, 57, of the 5100 block of South Prairie Avenue, Chicago, were cited for criminal damage to property after a roadway fight April 20. Barton also was cited for battery.

Witnesses told police that Barton and Husbands were seen arguing at around 6:58 a.m. in the road near Route 41 and Old Elm Road. That argument then turned into a fistfight. Husbands kicked Barton's car, and Barton hit Husbands in the face.

Both men are due in court June 7.

RESISTING ARREST

Latifah Toure, 26, of New York City, was arrested and faces battery and resisting arrest charges after kicking a police officer and punching another one in the face April 19.

At about 12:30 a.m., police responded to a call concerning an unwanted woman at a home in the 1400 block of North Lake Road. When police tried to walk Toure out of the house after repeatedly asking her to leave, the woman is accused of kicking and resisting one of the officers. She was arrested and charged on misdemeanor battery and resisting arrest.

Toure was released on bail in the morning, but when she was being walked out by police to her cab, she hit another officer in the face. The woman was arrested again, and this time she was charged with felony aggravated battery of a police officer and resisting arrest.

Toure was held on $10,000 bail, and her court date is May 10.

BATTERY

Joseph A. Granack, 38, of the 200 block of Noble Avenue, was arrested and charged with battery after he was accused of stopping a driver and grabbing him April 15.

According to police, Granack, who was a pedestrian, stopped a car at about 3:05 p.m. near Edgewood Road and Noble Avenue and began arguing with the driver about his speed and the volume of his music. Granack is then accused of grabbing the driver during the argument.

Police investigated the incident, and eventually taking Granack into custody and charging him. His court date is June 8.

FELONY THEFT

David J. Podolak, 54, of the 0-100 block of Cynthia Lane, Beecher, was arrested and charged with felony theft in connection with a home burglary last year.

The burglary occurred Aug. 30, 2015, in the 1100 block of West Keswick Lane, and investigators eventually discovered that Podolak allegedly pawned the stolen items at a Calumet City pawn shop.

Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Podolak and took him into custody April 23. He was held on $75,000 bond, and his court date is May 16.
