3 Corners Worker Tests Positive, Restaurant Deep Cleaned

LEMONT, IL — An employee at Lemont's 3 Corners Grill & Tap has tested positive for the coronavirus, owner Becky Militello told Patch. The employee tested positive over a week ago, and several other employees have been tested and have since received negative results.

Militello said the employee had minimal contact with others, but employees in close contact were informed and went to get tested, with negative results.

The rest of the employees were then also informed and "some employees were nervous and had more reason to be cautious," so some more staff did go and get tested, again with negative results, Militello told Patch. Workers were brought in for a short time from the restaurant's other locations in Downers Grove and New Lenox.

The restaurant did an overnight deep clean after the employee reported a positive result. Militello said the restaurant has also had a company come out every two weeks to sanitize and disinfect, in addition to staff doing cleaning on a regular basis.

"We notified the Cook County Department of Public Health and have followed guidelines," Militello said.

Several other businesses and organizations in Lemont have reported cases in recent days. Rosebud was closed earlier this week for cleaning after an employee tested positive; the park district closed its CORE gymnasium for cleaning after an employee was asymptomatic and tested positive; two summer sports participants at LHS have also tested positive; Main Inn is closed for two weeks after customers tested positive; and a district office employee at District 113A has also tested positive.
