69 Cases Of Coronavirus Reported In Lemont Area: IDPH

Over the past week, the number of Lemont's positive coronavirus cases increased by 11.

LEMONT, IL — The number of Lemont's coronavirus cases increased by 11 cases over the past week, according to data from the Illinois Department of Public Health. Lemont (ZIP code 60439) has 69 cases as of May 15, compared to 58 cases on May 8.

Lemont does have two nursing home facilities which have reported cases, which could contribute to the total case count for the village. Franciscan Village has reported four cases total, as well as one death. Lemont Center has also reported five deaths and nine cases at its facility as of May 8.

At Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox, the hospital has reported decreases in its amount of coronavirus in-patients and persons under investigation. On May 14, the hospital reported it had 23 inpatients who have tested positive for the coronavirus and nine persons under investigation.

IDPH is also reporting a total of 602 tests have been performed for ZIP code 60439. According to the Cook County Medical Examiner, there have also been five coronavirus related deaths in Lemont since March 16. The deaths included one woman in her 50s, one woman in her 60s, one woman in her 70s, one man in his 60s, and one man in his 70s. There is no available information regarding the number of patients who have recovered per town.
