Tornado Siren Maintenance Planned Wednesday In Lemont

LEMONT, IL — The tornado sirens in Lemont will undergo continued preventative maintenance service on Wednesday, the Village said. A similar test was done a week ago.

The outdoor warning system will be tested between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., and intermittent siren noises are possible during this time.

Monthly testing of the outdoor warning system normally occurs on the first Tuesday of each month at 10 a.m., according to the Village. The outdoor warning system is used to warn residents who are outdoors of an imminent weather emergency and to immediately seek shelter.
