A cooler weather pattern is expected throughout the rest of the week with temperatures in the 50s and 60s across the Chicago area. Scattered showers will move across the area each afternoon, though many areas will remain dry, according to the National Weather Service.

A flood warning remains in effect for the Fox River as water levels remain above flood stage. The river level is gradually beginning to fall, according to weather officials, and was at 11.4 feet as of Wednesday morning. Flood stage is 9.5 feet.
