District 70 Schools Celebrate Halloween With Parade, Parties

District 70 schools will be celebrating on Halloween.

LIBERTYVILLE, IL – Parading around their schools in costume and holding classroom parties are all a part of celebrating Halloween on Tuesday, Oct. 31, in Libertyville Elementary District 70. Students at Adler Park School will begin the parade at 12:25 p.m. and walk around the school’s playground blacktop with Principal Kerri Bongle. Parents are welcome to come and watch the parade, according to a news release.

The school is located at 1740 N. Milwaukee Ave. Then at 12:45 p.m. students will attend an assembly by The Rock ‘N’ Rope Warrior, David Fischer. Guinness World Record Holder David Fisher, AKA The Rope Warrior, has jumped his way into books, TV shows, and countless live shows and, now, a series of energetic music albums and his own instructional books.

The Rope Warrior is now the Rock And Rope warrior, teaching kids and adults everywhere to get in shape while having fun. Classroom parties will be held from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.

Look for Principal Candice Kehoe and Assistant Principal Steve Feldman to lead off the parade at Butterfield School, 1441 W. Lake St., at about 1 p.m. Classroom parties will be held throughout the afternoon, featuring activities, games and treats, according to a news release.

Copeland Manor School students will have their "Spooky Stroll" around the neighborhood at 12:45 p.m., lead by Principal Lori Poelking. Students will then watch a video and return to their classrooms at1:30 p.m. for parties. The school is located at 801 S. Seventh Avenue, according to a news release.

The parade around Rockland School, 160 W. Rockland Road, will kick-off with Principal Jeff Knapp leading kindergarten through fifth grade students at 1 p.m. Students will change into their costumes at the school after lunch. Classroom parties will commence at 1:30 p.m., following the parade.
